I'm planning for next year and wondered what inexpensive perks I could add to the office for the visits. I serve K-8.
I know the K-3 crowd looooove stickers.
3-6? Pencils with cool erasers or feathered tops?
7-8......uhhhhhhh attitude adjusters? lol J/K. I don't know what to get this age group.
Any suggestions for items? Any precautions I should take besides no choking hazards, fragrances or anything edible?

Most people here will say don't do it at all - it makes your office too inviting!
But I do have a "candy" bowl out for med kids and others who visit me. Most of the year it has goldfish crackers in it, but I change it up for holidays. Pumpkins and candy corn for Halloween, red and green m & m's for Christmas, candy hearts for valentines day, and jelly beans for Easter.

Oh boy, I'm imaging the line of kids now!
No incentives for kids that see me. They're in school to be in class, not to hang out in the health office.
I have no problem saying no to the kiddies. ?
But I have on occasion wished I had something to give.

No perks in the nurse's office!!!
You want a mint? You get a salt water gargle! You want an ice pack for your itchy eye? Nope, you get a nice eye wash!
Small school, well behaved kids and cooperative teachers. I got lucky. I would never consider this at the previous schools I worked at.
I usually give something after hearing and vision testing or around holidays.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I have stickers, tooth necklaces, and a "nurse kiss" stamp. The stamp was a leftover from the last nurse, to "kiss" and make better. The littles enjoy it.
I also try to keep some snacks; fruit snacks, goldfish and graham crackers.

I'm at pre-k. I use stickers but they are the same stickers we use building wise for positive behaviors.
I'm clear with the kiddos that if they are especially behaved while seeing me then they will get one.

The only “perks” my students get is my loving attention. That alone brings in more than I want to see a day! ?

I agree no 'prizes', however the kiss stamp is adorable.

I have "fun" Bandaids for those invisible injuries or scrapes/abrasions that really are nothing or days old. Toothboxes or "I lost a tooth" sticker when they lose a tooth.
I have been out of the toothboxes for a month now - some of these kids crack me up, real disappointment that they get handed a baggie instead of the crappy plastic treasure chest tooth box.
