Meaning of your username?

Hey ya'll!

I am new to allnurses and just was curious what everyones usernames mean. I know there are previous thread for this but I figured there have been some username changes and new members since then.

As you can see my username is Flightless and its just short for flightless bird AKA penguin which are my favorite animal lol I had a hard time trying to pick a username that was unique but didn't give me away! Haha!

So lets hear it!

I'm a Reformed Christian; mine's a Martin Luther reference. The story goes, while on trial for heresy and refusing to recant his Reformed writings, he responded: "Since your majesty and your lordships desire a simple reply, I will answer without horns and without teeth. Unless I am convicted by scripture and plain reason--I do not accept the authority of popes and councils for they have contradicted each other--my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand, I cannot do otherwise, God help me. Amen." There's some doubt if he actually said the "Here I stand" part, but it's a famous quote and short enough to be a username.

My avatar is a rotation of William Tyndale depictions. He translated the Bible into English at the cost of his life, because he believed so strongly that common English people should have a Bible they could own and read (as opposed to the legal Latin Bibles which were only read from the pulpit).

Penguins are cool!! I never cease to be amazed at those flocks of Emperor penguins protecting their eggs/chicks in such hostile conditions.

One of my favorite Irish names is Neamh (which no one ever spells right lol), but I also love Maeve. That was my user name on another site years ago when I was in college and people on the site started calling me Maevish as a term of endearment and it stuck, I guess. haha

When I joined AN - right after I finished nursing school - I lived in an area of the country that got a ridiculous amount of snow from October to March every year.
