Here are my stats - suffice to say, don’t give up, if you feel deterred by your early undergraduate results/experience:

-Overall GPA: 3.17 - includes 1.86 during first 2 years (failed out) and 3.74 during last 3 (I had much to make up), resulting in Bachelor’s in Economics and Asian Studies plus 3.96 in prerequisites recently

-Work (all in NYC): 5 years in finance; 8 years owning and operating a wellness business; 1.5 years as a birth doula

-Prerequisite grades (all in CC): A- in A&P1; A in A&P2, Lifespan, Nutrition, Stats, Microbiology, Gen Psych

-Recommendations: 2 professional; 1 academic

-Wrote all essays (esp as I needed to explain my first 2 years of undergrad), and was really happy with my timed writing and video essay

-Also, I’ve had to homeschool 2 young children (which has been the most challenging element the past 10 months)

Specializes in Chaplaincy to Nursing.

Accepted for MDE/DNP (PMHNP Track)!

One point of minor concern though, anyone else notice the short response time (Jan 29th)? I applied to three other schools and none of then even make a decision by then!

It’s so that CU can know how many more sports they have for the second round of decisions! The second round comes out early feb so they need the first round to decide prior to then

Feeling pretty discouraged today after not getting an email. Good luck to everyone waiting!

Are they asking for a deposit? I don’t know your situation, financial and what not, but if you’re looking forward to the responses from those other schools and you can afford the deposit for CU, I’d pay the deposit to secure my seat.

Specializes in Paramedic.

I was accepted this round! If you didn't get in yet, KEEP AT IT. I was waitlisted and unfortunately never accepted last year, but made it this year!

 Stats for those interested;

Bachelors in Emergency Health Sciences 3.88 degree GPA, however my true GPA is probably closer to 3.2 since I did fairly poorly my first few years of college

prereqs; psych: B, A+P 1/2: B/A, Micro: A, stats and nutrition pending, but previously taken both with A and B- (which was not sufficient per Columbia)

5 years full time employment as a Paramedic

They are asking for a $500 deposit by 3pm on January 29. It's a pretty hefty sum compared to some schools for sure.

Congrats for making it this round! What program did you get accepted into?

I have been a lurker but I also want to announce that I got accepted this round for the MDE program! I would like to become a public health nurse after obtaining my RN

My stat if it helps:

-International student from Indonesia (I speak 3 languages).

-Bachelors in Nutritional Science from UC Berkeley, 3.85 GPA (magna cum laude). I went to community college before I transferred to UC Berkeley, my GPA back then was 3.92. I was a club president while working part-time in CCs

-Prereqs: All courses are A's, except for Microbio where I got B+

-Finished an undergrad honor thesis and went on to work as a researcher in a biomedical science lab for almost 3 years now. I have been published once in a pathology journal.

-My LORs are from 1 academic supervisor (where I did my lab and thesis) and 2 professional supervisors (both are medical doctors/professors at UCSF).

Overall my background is pretty heavily on Research (I used to be premed) and I have been performing well academically throughout college. I have minimal to zero clinical experience asides from volunteering during my years in the American Red Cross.

I am still waiting to hear back from UCLA but I am super excited for Columbia!
