Hi guys!
I was hoping to get to know some of the people that will be applying to the Spring 12 nursing program.
I've been following the MDC Fall 2011 =) thread and I'm super excited for them, but now I'm even more excited since this time it's finally me who is applying to the nursing program.
So...who else is applying???? :redbeathe
if you can, wait to see what the fundies book edition might be. it might be the same one we have. but honestly, shouldnt make much of a difference. if you have the book already, read on "infection control". looong chapter you really gotta know well.if you are ever on campus, i suggest you take your USB with you and go to the success center or library and start getting the professor's powerpoints. they are on what we call a G drive on the computers on campus. there you will find all the ppts. start looking through that.
honestly, the reviews and rationales is good, i use it, but the accelerated students need it more than us full timers. we actually have time to read, the AO don't. the best thing you can do, and this is what i do, is really know your chapter well, especially the blue boxes, and do nclex q's. thats where fundamentals success is so useful.
Hey on eagles wings,
Are you using 7th ed of the Fundies book? I see there is an 8th ed coming, but there is no release date yet, so I'm not sure if the school would be using this new 8th ed. whenever it's actually available?
I'm assuming that you're already in the program @ MDC. Can you give some organization tips? i.e. favorite gadgets/apps to use, etc. Do the profs allow you to record lectures?
First of all Congrats to all of whom were accepted to MDC for Spring 2012! I am new to this thread but a regular reader of this forum. I have been scouring the forum in search of info regarding MDC transitional bridge for both part-time and full-time and have not been able to find the desired info.My question is whether or not any of you are familiar with the LPN - RN Bridge schedules? Each time I speak with someone from advisement I'm given a different response (one would think that an adviser should be privy to this information). I too was accepted for both the LPN to RN bridge for full-time (w/ face to face or online option) and part-time. I work full-time Mon-Fri. From 7a -3:30p (can't afford to quit) I have no idea as to which option to select because I can't seem to get a straight answer about the class schedules from the advisement.
What's a regular schedule for the bridge full and part time? What time and day(s) would I be required to attend classes, labs, and clinicals. Any info provided would be much appreciated.

Hello Carisma, i too got accepted for the upcoming term. By the time i submitted my acceptance letter (1day after i got the email), the seats were full!! ....so i will be doing it online. Were you able to get a seat in the face-to-face class? IF you are interested in swapping PLEASE let me know. I am a little nervous about doing this online, since i much rather the traditional face-to-face option. What nursing advisement told me was: all theory is online. Tests and midterms are on campus. Clinicals are either 2 weekdays 4pm-9pm OR i weekday 7-7 OR every saturday thru-out the program. Either way, you should call, or go to the campus (just in case i misunderstood )
GooD luck!
I received my acceptance email tonight too for part-time! I hoping for full-time still, but i'm kinda glad i dont have to quite my job!!! I guess everything happens for a reason!Congrats to all who got in, see you part-timers soon!!!!
Great job wolanskia!!!
If you don't mind, could you post your GPA and TEAS score??
Thanks!
