Okay it is a long time until the letters go out and we are all wondering if our HESI score was good enough. So let's be silly and play detectives and see if we can get an idea of where we stand.

For 1000 students with around 30 seats per room, there was around 34 classes.

1. Greent52389- 1/7/09, Rm 130, 81.73 average

2. Shannonmarie7- 1/7/09, Rm 115, 81.75 average

Repy with your test date, number of the room you were in, and the average score from your class and I will update this page to see what some of the overall class averages are.:smokin:

I took the NET twice at Baker, can't take it anymore. It was the same score..100% in the math portion, but low in the predicting outcomes portion and that brought my NET score down...It is too funny actually when I think about it, because every other test that I have taken now for different schools I am getting 95-98% in the reading area, but not on the NET...LOL I just can't predict outcomes for some reason...LOL

I wish I could pass along my extra NET test. I only had to take it once. I got a 70 something on the NET Reading comprehension. It was HARD and tricky!

I think that the time limits on the NET is what makes it so hard, I like the HESI better where I can take my time....lol.:D

hi everyone, i took my hesi @ macomb center campus in bldg. a, room 123 on december 12. i scored an 88.94% :crying2:. i currently have a 4.0 gpa :yeah: and i studied my butt off for this test having been out of school for over a decade. reading the threads on this site has proven more discouraging than anything for me, but i talked to the nursing dept. at macomb and i feel better. the class average was only 82%. first, several of these threads are saying that each class has 30 seats, however, when i asked the instructor in my class (who was very friendly, helpful and nice), she said that each testing group has 25 students. the nursing dept. told me directly that the 30 additional seats that are being made available this year is the minimum number they're considering, so take it for what it's worth. she also said that just because you score in the 90's doesn't mean anything if your gpa isn't equally impressive. a word of encouragement that i particularly appreciated....she said that last year there were 150 people allowed on the wait list and out of those, by march of the following year when they clear the waitlist for the newcomers, they had already offered 139 of those waiting a placement in the nursing program due to drop-outs, transfers and those choosing a different program. that's something to be hopeful about.:saint: one last thing, i had mostly nursing hopefuls in my fall classes and many of them commented that the hesi was not that important, that it was simply a general education type of test. it may be a general education type test, but it's very important for getting into the nursing program, and many of the students who felt that way did not score well on the test at all and now have to consider a different path.

hopeful2009,

good information, thank you. how does mcc manage their waitlist? when and how can you get on this list?

good luck,

I think the waistlist is made up of #161- #311 (if they do 150 again).

Hmmm, maybe they are only doing 150 spots this year instead of the 160.

I am curious about the 139 on the wait list that were offered spots because there was only around 120 spots last year, and they may have added a few but 139 is a lot of spots. So either they added more than I thought or there were a lot of drop outs, transfers, etc?

If you can believe the academic advisor that I spoke to, she said that there are 160 spots available this year.

As far as the "wait list" goes, I have no clue :/

So confused...lol. :lol2:

I hope the wait list thing is what the advisor told the OP because that at least gives me a chance, I am pretty convinced that I am out for the original spots.

shannonmarie7,

Did you have to sign up for the wait list or were you automatically added? I never signed up, but last year I ranked 268, and I don't recall hearing about a wait list.

This is my first time applying but I thought they added you automatically but maybe not. I think that the number of 139 were on the wait list and had spots may be wrong. There was 120 spots or so last year so if 139 people were taken above that then that would mean that the opened more spots but also that most of the "original" accepted group dropped out, went to another program etc. This doesn't seem like it is possible for that many people to not want in the program. I'm thinking maybe 39 were taken or something like that.

i decided to go through old posts and see if i can find info on the wait list. here is one from 2006. it is old so the accelerated part does not count any longer but it does say something about the list.

"macomb accepts 125 students each year. they did take on 30 additional this year into their accelerated program, but they are not planning on doing that particular program until the current accelerated class graduates. (apparently they want to see if it is successful) who knows, they may change that if that class is doing well.................but as it stands now, they only accept 125.........they do however take 126-200 as alternates and they could be called to enter the program if anyone who has been accepted does not take their seat".

so that is 74 on the alternate list.

they do however take 126-200 as alternates and they could be called to enter the program if anyone who has been accepted does not take their seat".

so that is 74 on the alternate list.

that's how i understood it, too. it's not a "wait list" per se, but more of an "alternate list" should some of the accepted applicants decide to drop. "wait list" is kind of a bad term. :twocents:
