The book to study is the Hesi Study Guide. You can get copies of it on the internet. Just google Hesi Study guide, or you can go to your school book store, they should have it. Study up on your A&P, on your math skills, i.e. metrics, fractions, conversions, ratios and so forth. We had the A&P on it, not chemistry or biology. Also for the English part, know the differences in uses for words, like, their versus there, hear versus here and so forth. I wish you the best of luck.
  2. I just tried the web address you stated above for the RT students. It doesn't come up. Is the address correct??? Just wondering because I was also trying to find a forum for RT. Thanks
  3. Just tell me if there is a full moon. then I know that all the inmates are running the jail and what is a bed pad???? I never can find them!! Just lie to me and tell that days was wonderful and the afternoon shift will go smoothly....yeah right. And so true, the one who does the least b@@ the most...
  4. Carebear thanks for the information. I am so glad they are doing this. Hopefully I will get in to the LPN and then go right into RN...
  5. Hey there mrsrlg. Classes went great with both. I am taking the test on the 29th. We will see....I still haven't had time to refresh my self with it. Working too much and still finishing an on-line class. When should we know whether we are in or not??? I didn't ask that when I went to see her. I totally forgot to ask that question....
  6. I am also applying to the LPN program and taking my hesi on the 29th. I went to their site but do not see where it states that they were approved. Can you tell who you talked too? Thanks.
  7. It's Panky1 here...Hi Kim! I have not been on the board since we met at the meeting....I have been finishing up my classes at MCC...Finals are this week so I have been studying for the midterms for AH and the finals for MCC...plus working...so to say the least just a little busy over here...LOL As for the HESI, I took it at MCC and it was just like the study guide, not the exact same questions, but pretty close to what you need to study. I can't say that the Baker one will be the same, but they do have the same study guide available. As soon as I am done with MCC classes, I would love to meet up after class on Tues/Thurs at 2:40 to study for the hesi exam.
  8. Same here, not 20 or 30, sooo we will know each other off the bat!!! LOL
  9. hopin09, great story and thanks for the encouragment. I think that it will be an exciting and awarding career. No letter here either!!! I think we all should get together at MCC and have a liquid BBQ this weekend, so they can see and witness the stress they have put us through!!! I figure the letter will come Thursday or Friday because I will not be home either of those days till realllly late...LOL
  10. mrslg, I will see you Tuesday by the coffee machines....I am in room 110 and DO know where the big open area is....LOL That I found the first day....LOL Kash lets us out at exactly 2:35 so I will wait for you by the coffee machines...
  11. It is good advice and I have already had the opportunity to shadow an RT, nurse, CNA, ST and even a resident surgeon. My moter was a nurse and when she got sick and lived at Providence Hospital for 10 months, yep 10 months, so I was able to check out different opportunities in health care. I started in school and started pursuing nursing, and decided if I failed to get accepted that I would make a list of my choices by pros and cons. I am a CNA right now and also get see all of it in action. It is always a good idea to shadow and read up on what profession you would like to do. ADN44 same question as mrslg, how do (did) you like the program? ARe you going on to RN?
  12. Alrighty then, Tuesday at 2:40 in the student center....UMMMM where is the student center at...LOL Heck I just found the bookstore day before class started and haven't walked around the campus yet....LOL Also where shall we meet up at student center, just so I am not walking around the center asking everyone if they are mrslg.....:lol2:
  13. Hi Pbid, I am going to be in Resp Therapy with YOU!!!!! I finally made my decision and it was on reading alot about both and I really found it interesting that we can work in the er/trauma room....THAT I would Love....so my decision is set and the check went in the mail yesterday.....plus....my gosh, it said I was accepted into ST, but when I called, they said they will be doing another criteria rating in the fall. So you send in 100.00 now and if that criteria isn't met, then you don't get in the program, plus you lose the 100.00.....what a crock.....and I didn't meet the criteria with some of the classes. So I am in RT...I am excited!! Of course if the letter comes about the nursing and I by some slim, very slim chance I get into that, then there I go!!! But hey RT is a great stepping stone and it does sound very interesting! I guess I am going to have to quit smoking now for sure....LOL
  14. Hi there mrslg! Thank you for the congrats...It was fun to FINALLY receive an acceptance letter to something...LOL I do WANT nursing, so yes I will still be at the meeting on Tuesday. But I figure that if all else fails and I don't get accepted then RT is the way to go. What is two years of doing this program, then work it and then go on to try to get the RN again.....I am already old so being a little bit older isn't going to kill me....LOL I Love Dr. Kash, he is a blast. I am finding that a lot of it is coming back from A&P. His first test, was easy and I received a 100% on it. I am studying right now for the second test, so we will see how this one goes. How are your classes going? We have to meet up at 2:40 one of these days on campus....
  15. I don't know which way yet....LOL One minute I am thinking ST and then next minute I am thinking RT...I have a lot of thinking to do over the weekend. Well at work I have will have to think about it. I don't know if I am cut out for the phlem and such with RT. I love the inside of the body, if that makes any sense? I just don't know....tell me why you are choosing RT over ST...maybe that will help me decide better. LOL
