Okay it is a long time until the letters go out and we are all wondering if our HESI score was good enough. So let's be silly and play detectives and see if we can get an idea of where we stand.

For 1000 students with around 30 seats per room, there was around 34 classes.

1. Greent52389- 1/7/09, Rm 130, 81.73 average

2. Shannonmarie7- 1/7/09, Rm 115, 81.75 average

Repy with your test date, number of the room you were in, and the average score from your class and I will update this page to see what some of the overall class averages are.:smokin:

here are a few more, it seems like everyone up to a certain point (probably 50 -100 spots) are placed on the alternate list in case some people do not want to go to the program. it seem automatic that you are on it if you rank close to the last number accepted.

2007

"i was ranked 146 and i ended up being called up as an alternate and i just graduated! there were many people they took after me. macomb has an awesome program and while i am not particularly fond of the entrance criteria, i feel like i am well prepared".

this is with 125 spots.

2007

"i also called the nursing dept and talked with the secretary of the department. she told me that as of today they are at 133 on the alternates list. i asked her if she would mind sharing with me what #133's hesi score was and she obliged. it was exactly 90".

That's how I understood it, too. It's not a "wait list" per se, but more of an "alternate list" should some of the accepted applicants decide to drop. "Wait list" is kind of a bad term. :twocents:

I agree it seems like either you are on it or you are not...lol. No wait list, just an alternate list, but hey I would take it, better than nothing...lol.;)

As would I, my dear! Best of luck to ALL OF US!!

I think I found the Holy Grail:

That lists ALL the classes from Baker that transfer to MCC AND their credits!

Ok, ok, I swear I'm done obsessing over this; I need to just wait for that darned letter lol!

I'm tired of obsessing also, I pretty much give up. I looked at it and my 4 classes add up to over 12 credits. It is still upsetting that they transfer so low because I think we work just as hard in 10 weeks as MCC does in 16.

I know, I totally agree :( We should know soon enough.

My questions with this mostly revolves around wondering if they will use the elective transfers to figure GPA. My pre algebra transferred, but I know it doesn't count.

I do not think it gets used. I had a ton transfer over as electives from when I was in school for dental assisting and the counselor commented that that I had a ton of credits but they came over as "just electives".:icon_roll

They told me in the email that I could take a copy of my Baker transcript in and they would tell me which exactly will count. I am trying not to worry about it.

I tried that and she just told me that the classes I had would transfer even though they transfer as less because they are "not like Baker", they welcome transfer students. She did not go into what classes they would use for the GPA, just last 18. She did try to tell me about the classes they are using for 2010 though, I guess that was a hint...lol.

She told me this:

You could probably contact the Selective Admissions office at Center Campus for information on which classes will be used. Or you could visit with an Academic Advisor. Be sure to bring an unofficial copy of your Baker College transcript if you visit with an Academic Advisor.

But didn't some call that office and get reamed? LOL

Yesterday was the deadline for MCC! I got a letter confirming that they have all the necessary info to process my application.

I'm already obsessing and counting the days :(
