What is your take on the issue of legalizing marijuana?
I smoked a lot of pot when I was young and growing up. I never got busted. I was never in a wreck, I was always motivated in life to keep moving onward. and I havent had any adverse affects from it. Now someone was talking about smoking pot and those play station thingees, I didnt have those when I grew up,in fact we didnt even have Atari then. Maybe the problem isnt Pot but those play station thingees, I still dont have one of those. From what I see those are more addictive and mind numbing by far. And not to mention those addicted to their computers, PDAs and cell phones.
Oh come on. Did you have to bring computer addiction into this? :rotfl: (DON'T TOUCH MY COMPUTER!!!!) :chuckle

Very funny - there probably is a component of addiction related to PlayStations.

I think it should be legal. I probably wouldn't use it anyway, but at least the people who are doing it now would be taxed when buying it.Also, it would control the amount of laced product sold out there. Drug pushers wouldn't be able to sell it as much, and profit on it, if one could go to the local convenient store to purchase it.
Many people, especially teens, will do things that they are told they can't, so who knows, legalizing it may make the "want" out of smoking pot.
..and for the record, I am not a "pothead" trying to "lobby" on legalizing MaryJane. I have never had the desire to use it, and even if it is legalized, I don't think that will change.
Actually, that stats show that legalizing it makes the useage rate skyrocket.

Here is where the problem arises... We already have a major issue with people drinking and driving, by legalizing marijuana we are compounding that problem. Not only will we continue to have drunk drivers but now we will have to contend with drivers who are high on pot or both drunk and high. I don't think society has shown itself to be responsible enough to ensure the safety of our loved ones. I am against the legalization of another mind altering substance. I would be curious to know how the police plan to deal with the problem of driving while under the influence of marijuana. Other than visual cues how would they assess drivers without a urine or blood test? Well there's my two cents, if people acted more responsibly I would have no problem with the legalization of this substance. It is unfortunate that we live in a society were the minority hold the most influence with it's destructive and dangerous behaviour.-Peat-
Don't you think these people are already out there driving? I know friends of mine (No, seriously) who smoke MJ and they drive. IMHO I don't think this is the main issue.
I'm curious. For those who say, legalize it for everyone, do you use it yourself?
If you voted NO, or for medicinal use, and you do not use it, say YES.
If you voted legalize it, and you use it, say YES.
If you voted yes, or for medicinal use and you do use, say NO.
If you voted to legalize it and you do not use it, say NO.
Just wondering if you own habits are effecting our decisions.
To that, I will just answer.....YES
I used to, many years ago. I enjoyed it, it relaxed me and helped me with the migraine headaches I used to get so frequently. In fact, I'd probably still be doing it if I didn't have a) a nasty case of asthma, b) teenagers still at home, and c) a nursing license I'd like to keep. I have no moral problem with marijuana, but it IS illegal and it's not worth risking my career over. 'Nuff said. :stone
