Maricopa Spring 2016 Block 1 students

Published

So we all should have heard weeks ago about our placement now I wanted to start a place for the preparation for Block 1.

I know Fall semester still needs to start and end before we can even get to block 1, but hey I'm to excited.

How is everyone doing getting situated for the universitys?

When is everyone thinking about starting the stuff that needs to be done for Maricopa (I.e. medical papers, titer tests, CPR)?

Yeah, give PC a call because you don't want them to take you back out for not sending in the contract. Plus that acceptance email should have the dates of your school's orientation.

I went through desert education solutions, I found them through the American heart website.

Got my BLS for HCP done today and it went really well. I would definitely recommend Desert Education Solutions and they have a Goodyear and Scottsdale location.

Is it still possible to get into the spring start??

Is it still possible to get into the spring start??

I think so. Scroll up in this post or check June CEP post and they are holding information sessions for UOP and Franklin pers (sorry for the spelling).

But you should contact a Maricopa nursing advisor and talk to them to start the process. You have to be in the nursing pool with a time stamp in order to apply for the CEP program.

I have also been accepted into PC/NAU for Spring 2016. I received the contract and sent it back already, they were kind enough to email me back and confirm they received it.

I am wondering if I should start on all of the immunizations and other requirements now since I will have to drag it out to not take so much time off from work. Has anyone else started the paperwork for those?

On page one a poster replied saying we should start those as soon as possible.

I'm going to go next Friday to get my titer test done and get any vaccines that I need. I'm going to wait till September to get a physical done because the paper work says something about it needing to be done no longer than 6 months from program start date.

See the way I read it was "program admission"...we were admitted to the program right? I had my dr sign off the paper but if I have to get her to sign it again before January that won't be a big deal.

I also got my titers drawn and I will just need to do the TB test now :)

I can see it that way AZBluebell, but I am unsure if we have been admitted to the program or not. I can see them saying that technically we aren't admitted till they are ready to do the official placing later in the fall. If you get what I am saying.

To for me it is harder to get a hold of my primary care physician (military spouse) so I'm just going to schedual an appointment further out ☺.

I was just placed on the wait list on Monday. Just received the email today and chose MCC morning session. I was told when I applied on Monday by the advisor that some people are getting placed in as little as a semester wait and I could very easily be picked for spring semester. I'm trying to find out what the schedule will look like? Does anyone know what the weekly schedule is supposed to be for start and finish each day? The website doesn't show exact times so I'm thinking it varies. I have kiddos in school and want to figure out childcare just in case. Thank you!!! :)

The schedule changes semester to semester and varies by school. From what I have read when people post their schedules you can expect something like an 8-2pm or 8-3pm class day with 3-4 days a week for block 1. But really, you won't know til you have orientation for your first block.

The only people that know they are starting in Spring as of now are CEP students, but there will be others added in a couple months when people start getting placed off the wait list. And this thread could be for anyone starting in spring :)
