Hey all, I'm 1 of 3 males out of a cohort of 30. I constantly feel like my opinion is unappreciated, that I'm overpowered, and that women, when they're together, are complete and utter *******. It even seems like the female teachers look down upon the men. We're not gay, we hardly even talk, but when we do we get shot down.
Any other males feel this way? No offense to women, it's just how I feel....

A woman RN saved my life after I stopped breathing the night before I was to be released. Without her, I wouldn't be typing this.
A male ER nurse, had my kidney stone attack diagnosed before the Dr even had a chance to check me out. Now I know what pain women go through during childbirth.
An ER physician saved my wife's life by administering TPA after she had a stroke.
I don't always understand them and that makes life interesting.:redbeathe

Sorry guys, was lurking here... We only have one guy in our class of thirty.. Some days he has to take a joke or two, but he's good about it. I think it is very admirable for a male (or anyone) to become a nurse. But like a couple of previous posters said, I think the OP needs a dose of what being a minority or oppressed person is like.. And take the lesson with him down the road.
Not trying to be harsh.. just hoping you take a lesson out of this!!
I have no idea what the male to female ratio in my class is going to be as I won't start my training for two weeks. But I know we will be in the minority. I for one will not find it unfamiliar. I am Hispanic and my wife is Black and she belongs to several Black Organizations (including the NAACP) and I get dragged along to all of their functions. I have gotten used to being the only one with no dancing ability at these, but I will never get used to wearing a dang tie as a matter of principle!
