Hey guys,
I just graduated am in the job market, at one of the facilities I was touring the facility and there was this old fat bald guy wearing purple scrub buttoms and a purplish top. I have no issues with homosexuals but for some reason this irked me. So back to the title what do you guys wear to work and any good websites. I know in nursing school I had trouble with scrubs because I'm tall.. Thanks in advance

I don't wear scrubs now, but when I did I just picked stuff that fit well, looked good and was durable, practical and professional looking. That's the impression I always wanted to convey...I avoided commiting "fashion felony..."

Be glad you get to pick, just got into nursing school and when i was picking up my books and supplies I found out I have to wear "wine" colored scrubs for the next 14 months... yuck! Find someone who can sew or do alterations. It may cost a little more but at least you will have more options. Good luck landing a job.

i was wondering that, too -- how does one get from purple scrubs to "homosexual"? (or maybe it was the "old bald fat" part?)
I did not mean to insult people. and l apologize and will not answer that queston because l am just gonna dig myself a hole.

smartest thing would to say you misspoke and drop it.
anyway, back to your original question...Dickie's scrubs work great for me. They sell Unisex (no flaring obviously woman's pants or plunging neck lines) and have some really nice scrub cargo pants, perfect for keeping those important things on your person. They run about $20/set I think.

I started my career in the NICU a few weeks ago, and was happy to find that they required navy scrubs. So, I ran out and bought about $200 in new Landau 7 pocket scrub pants (the ones with zipper, button closure, and belt loops). I love the pants, perfect for male nurses.
A few days ago, we're informed that all nurses that work with children in the hospital system will be required to wear wine-colored scrubs. You can imagine my dismay when I heard this. Not only did I just waste $200 on navy scrubs, but I also now find out that the Landau pants with belt loops that I so love...do not come in wine. Plus, wine scrubs are ugly, especially on men.
Now I'm trying to find belt-looped, button-closure, zipper-fly pants in other brands that actually come in wine. :argue:

I love my Aviator scrubs... durable and have enough pockets for everything. And I do have a purple set. It's just one of those colors I look good in.
