Lysol Douche

A senior member of mamily, whom I suspect is in the early stages of Alzeimer's, told me today that her "hips were hurting" so she gave herself a Lysol Douche. She said that she had used it during the 40's as birth-control, and she thought this might make her feel better. She said she is feeling better now. I am really afraid that she is going to hurt herself. She said that she didn't use very much, but I am still worried. Ever heard of this?

hmmmm..I used to like those salty vinegar potato chips...somehow they aren't as appealing now :/

MOM and Merthiolate mixture for decubs. I still like saline wet-to-dry dressings for my own personal wounds...keeps 'em debrided without having to SCRUB! :)

Oh, and by the way, it's vinegar and WATER, not SALT and vinegar for the healthier of the douches. But if you read the ingredients on the Massengil powder douches..they include menthol and alum!! LOL

When I was in training we had to wash the windows with vinegar. I went to lunch and one of the guys asked what I had been doing all morning. I said "can't you tell" giving him a whiff of my hands. He said "Oh....taking a douche".

There was a product sold as a douche and didn't sell well so they changed it to a mouth wash. That was in late 60's but I can't remember the name of it. Very popular brand though.

Alum-that's used in pickles...I read somewhere that women used to douche with that prior to their wedding-it tightened everything up so well down there that they could pretend to be a virgin:roll
