I am in an 12 mo LPN program!, I am stressed as hell, have so much homework, i just want to cy!!!!!! Failed one test (A&P) and have some rumor spreading-backstabbing-insecure-gossping girls in my class, not all just 2 of them.
How do you handle the stress of nursing school, and how do you deal with gossiping or jelous people? I can hear them talking about me, always asking what my grades are? Sometimes i dont hear what they say ...but i just know they are talking about me...sometimes they write stuff on little piece of papers so you cant hear them.... Who has been through this?? How do you deal with the stress? And have any of you guys ever failed a test in LPn school?
Thank you,
Much love!!

Ignore them. If they are this busy worrying about you, then they don't have their minds on THEIR studies like they should.
And you should stop worrying about them and keep your mind on your studies.
You should have one objective.....getting all you can out of this year of LPN school, cause once it's gone, it's gone.
Ignore them That's high school stuff.

You sound a little paranoid. Probably the stress. Relax, study, ignore the girls who you feel are talking about you. It's only a year. It goes quick.
Good luck

First off I want to say..DO NOT GIVE UP OR GIVE IN!!!! I was a homeschooled student and graduated a year early. You can imagine how unaware I was of what I was about to walk into...Yes I failed some tests( but I learned the beauty of index cards) and You bet we had trouble maker, jealous petty girls. First of all IGNORE THEM!!! Every time they get any kind of reaction from you then they win. Concentrate on school and just keep your nose in your books. This year will fly I promise. If I can do it then you can do it. I cried a few tears last year thats for sure but as I look back nursing school gave me thick skin. I am now in community college and looking for a LPN job. And in community college I am getting the highest grades in the class as a result of great study habits in nursing school. You can do this if you want it bad enough. Just keep the prize in your sights, the finish line will come and when you walk that stage you are going to feel so proud :)

I was the subject of gossip, and had immature girls in my class that played the silly "high school" games. In addition, plenty of secretive academic competition existed in the classroom, where people attempted to guess your grade. If you ignore these people, they cannot possibly hurt you in any way, shape, or form.
I failed several tests in my program, but this was nobody's business but mine. If they ask about your grades, tell them that it is none of their concern. You are going to have to shun these people and stick to yourself. My gossipy classmates were so very disturbed when I stopped talking to them altogether. I suppose they realized that I could get along without their social company. After all, I attended school to immerse myself in a new career pathway, not to make friends.

I really hated nursing school, for many of the same reasons. I never shared my grades, because I was too paranoid that people would latch onto me because of my grades, only, not for friendship. I was a loner the entire time I was in school and do not regret it. I didn't even attend my own graduation, because I was so sick of the students and professors.
You cannot focus on them, and as others stated, do not give up!! I thought it would take forever, and now, it has been over a year and it is all behind me. What I can say, though (unfortunately), is that this is the introduction to nursing as a career. I am not saying that every nurse you encounter is that way, but the bad ones will REALLY grate your last nerve. They hate when they see that you know your stuff, want to continue to learn and God forbid if you are a smart AND attractive person...
Do not share your dreams of goals with these people, keep your eye on the prize and before you know it this will be water under the bridge.

I believe every class at every school has those kind of people....Some girl was bragging about getting 100% on her math exam and was asking everyone else what they got....She's already branded herself as the know it all.....

I agree with all the others, we had a few trouble makers in my class and the only thing I can tell you is to stay focused on what you came there to do and that is to get your degree. You do not have to bond and have lifetime relationships with them. Get tougher skin and don't let them get next to you because it could start affecting your grades. Stay focused on passing and getting out of there.

God, LPN school for me was made much more difficult due to the insecure gossiping trouble makers in my class! As everyone else has said, try your best to ignore these people. It's very difficult to do that at times but just remember, once you graduate you never have to see these people again! That's the fact I had to cling to many a time to make it through the harrassment and the overall stress. You'll do fine!

Focus on what you're in LPN school for; you didn't know those people before you started nursing school and you don't have to know them after you're done with your course.

Here in Canada, LPN school is 2 - 2.5 years long and people here are just as nasty and gossipy as anywhere else. I really disliked most people in my class and I managed this by simply ignoring the ones I didn't like. I spent a lot of time studying and practicing in the lab. I am sure that some didn't like me but honestly, I couldn't care less. Even two years went by quickly and now I don't see any one in my class. Just keep working hard, this is only temporary what you are going through.

I've often said that it wasn't even the work that was all that hard it was the stinking politics! I hated LPN school and also didn't attend my graduation. I'm not real big on ceremony and I didn't want to spend one more second with some of those twits. Fortunately my RN class is much better, or maybe I just knew what to expect, yeah thats probably it because there are a fair share of twits here also, lol.
Just go about your business and to heck with them.
