Liking members at AN

Published

Perhaps because I don't mind agreeing to disagree but something I really enjoy here are the times when someone I previously thought was a dope says something I think is smart and they are moved from my imaginary dope to my imaginary sharp list. :)

Throughout my life I strive to keep an open mind so I don't miss something profound. There are some people here I have "known" for years, respect and think I would like to work with and might even enjoy them as a friend. There are others who I wonder how they manage to tie their shoes this morning let alone pass NCLEX but again I continue to keep an open mind and very often I am pleasantly surprised.

Do you change favorite posters here or are you consistent with who you appreciate and who you aren't so thrilled with? Does anyone block members? My curiosity would never allow that, lol.

No, I don't really. It's good to see people disagree with my perspective and I do learn from them.

Does anyone block members? No, unless they're begging for it.

Oh god, no .... please don't say that, I'm so sorry .... my name is a carryover from the late, late, long-lamented AOL communities, where I was a leader in the RN community and ran (what else?) a student homework helper chat a few evenings a week. I could drink it then ...

BTW, whatever happened to the campfire avatar?

I LOVE AN. As a non-native English speaker, being here regularly, I benefited from people who have a rich vocabulary and I learn the syntax of the English language. In an ESL class, it's rare to find a classmate that speaks English language proficiently, but the teacher.

Blocking someone who aggravates me takes all the fun out of being on an internet forum!

Exactly!! I have never blocked anyone, and, short of crazy stocker-ish behavior, I never will.

In addition, there are several people I like a lot. If you pay attention to likes, you know who you are! (at the risk of missing someone, I will not mention any names)

Here's another one for you: tchotchkes. It means trinkets or knicknacks; usually cheap stuff.

Pronounced as "choch-keys."

According to Google, it also means a "pretty girl or woman." Thank you for introducing me to that term. Now I can say to my friends, did you see that tchotchke? :)

I see no reason to pick on people who put products on grocery shelves for a living.... ;)

LadyFree 28 is great; I always enjoy her thoughtful posts. I also really like Elkpark, macawake, Mr. Chicago, The Commuter, and Calivianya.:)

Moogie,Sharon H, ArwenEvanstar, Leslie D, and Suzanne 4 gave good advice, but i do not see them posting anymore

They were the best.

I read several sections on AN on a daily basis but don't post nearly as often as I read. I do have several favorite posters whom I have a great deal of respect for as well as a handful of others who frequently irritate me. I've also never had a reason to block anyone, I just scroll past threads I don't wish to read. 😎

I've been lurking on AN for years. I get a couple of laughs EVERYDAY, thanks ladies and gents. My favorite posters are RNsRWE, The Commuter, and Red Kryptonite. RNsRWe is very patient with answering the plethora of questions about the NCLEX, I would've been blown a lid lol. Never had to block anyone, I just keep on scrolling. Thanks for the laughs, valuable information, and just plain out being honest.

Probably an auto-correct fail.
