So I came home from a overnight trip to find my house ransacked. Obviously a bunch of kids as there was beer all over the carpets and floors, turned over drawers, broken lights, etc.....
Called the cops, little hope of getting stuff back...lost my laptop, a digital photo frame(girlfriend's xmas gift), my ipod, and a ipod radio. all in all, not too much was taken, left the guitar and the golf clubs.
Life lesson for renter's insurance(didn't have it), and always leaving a light on. They shot out a bunch of windows, but that falls on the landlord. So I could really just use some well thought words and prayers now....thanks for listening.
I'm ok, it's just stuff...but it's more frustrating than anything...so, what do you do? Move on and learn.....such is life.

I'm so sorry. It ****** me off to hear about people who don't respect other people's things. It may be just stuff but it's your stuff. (((((((Lorenzo)))))))

I see you are in Chicago area. Me too.Sorry this happened to ya. Same thing happen to me a couple of years ago. Really bites. Took a while before I got over it. My son still has nightmares once in a while. Thing is for us, they stole my kids stuff. Toys, bike, his TV, his radio, some of his clothes, all of his fishing and camping equipment. Don't know what possesses people to do that stuff but from experience, time heals. I hope you still have a wonderful and Merry Christmas. :santa:Just keep reminding yourself it is only things, they can be replaced. BTW, we did not have renters insurance either. Will pray for you.
I should add, we did catch the thieves. It was our upstairs neighbor. A single guy we did not really know. Go figure.

Sorry to hear that. I know how frustrating that is. I know it is only stuff but I also know that it is stuff that you worked hard for that someone else came into your house to help themselves to b/c they are to lazy to get a job! I hope you can replace your stuff soon. Thank goodness you wre not there when they decided to help themselves to your things.

I'm sorry that happened to you--that truly sucks.
I never had my house broken into, but it's happened to my car--they ripped a lot of stuff out of there too. The feeling of violation was horrible, but it was only the car--I can't imagine how much worse it must be for you right now, with it being your home that was broken into.
I got lucky though. Said thief got greedy and came back to hit the car again two months later, just to get picked up that night with my stuff on him. Hopefully they'll catch the ones who did that to you too.
