Lehman College 2018 Fall Generic BSN/ABSN applicants!

Published

Hello, everyone applying to Lehman's BSN/ABSN programs for Fall 2018!

I am currently working on my application and will very soon take HESI. I know application period does not start until January 1, but I thought I would create a thread so we could get in touch and support each other on the way to (keeping fingers crossed!) being accepted!

For the first 3 clinicals we should be reporting to the T3 building in the lab which I believe is on the first floor.

Do you know if we should also be there at 7 am?

Yes we should.

So I went to the department yesterday. (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) will not be back until August 20th from Vacation. She will get to our documents then. I asked about our clinical orientation, and it was said that she is the one in charge of the clinical papers and orientation section. So do not expect any response to emails or anything until after the 20th. Unless you want to contact the chair person (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). Up to you all.

wow, I rushed my doctor to finish my documents and I took time off of work for my appointment. She should've been more transparent about how much time we realistically had.

I agree with you. The staff themselves didn't understand why there was a rush, if no one else can help process the paper work, on top of not letting them know about any of it. She has a big pile of papers on her door and no one in the office can help with it because they do not know her process.

My gut tells me that most likely our clinical orientations will be taking place during the first weeks of the fall semester. There is no way that (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) can deliver all the clinical docs the last week before school starts.

I delivered my documents and left certain things blank that she'll have to answer herself. The secretary advised me to leave them blank and that's what I did.

I did the same. I handed in everything that pertained to my information and left the rest blank. It seems like some of the documents wasn't even meant for us to really have. That's pure laziness and rushing so she can go on vacation while we stress out. Smh. At least I got everything done and it's out the way. That's all that matters. Let hope she gets on a fast track roll when she gets back next week.

I don't think it was right for her to go on vacation like that. She should've at least waited until after the papers were due and all of the orientations were already set up. That's crazy. Our class schedules were sent out almost three weeks late and so were the papers we needed for our respective clinical sites. We only had a week to get everything ready. Someone here stated that it was medically impossible for them to finish the paperwork in only a week. That's not right. She should've at least sent out the paperwork for those who were placed in that hospital first. And what about the students who want to go on vacation? They're taking a risk if they go because who knows if when they'll need to go to their hospital's orientation.

I agree. Like I mentioned before, most likely many of us will have our clinical orientations during the first or second week of school, or even later. If she returns on the 20th, and delivers clinical docs that same week, the hospitals will need time to review the docs, and schedule the orientations. By then it will already be September.

You're absolutely right.

I agree with FutureNurseInfo. And by the way, I was told that uniform is to be worn the 1st day of clinical. So if your day for clinicians is Tuesday, then you wear it to Lehman in the Lab. As well as for others on a different day. My first day of class is Tuesday, but my clinical day is scheduled for Thursdays. So I would wear the uniform on Thursday and report to Lehman.
