Lehman College 2018 Fall Generic BSN/ABSN applicants!

Hello, everyone applying to Lehman's BSN/ABSN programs for Fall 2018!

I am currently working on my application and will very soon take HESI. I know application period does not start until January 1, but I thought I would create a thread so we could get in touch and support each other on the way to (keeping fingers crossed!) being accepted!

I agree with FutureNurseInfo. And by the way, I was told that uniform is to be worn the 1st day of clinical. So if your day for clinicians is Tuesday, then you wear it to Lehman in the Lab. As well as for others on a different day. My first day of class is Tuesday, but my clinical day is scheduled for Thursdays. So I would wear the uniform on Thursday and report to Lehman.

Random but did you receive your uniform top yet? I'm still waiting on mine. & Thanks for the info.

Good afternoon and congratulations on everyone's acceptance to the program. I thought I was alone when I found out that (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) is on vacation. My placement is in BX Lebanon and apparently there is a "finger printing requirement" which was not previously mentioned. Did anyone receive any additional information?

Second question: aside from the actual placement when do we need to wear our nursing uniforms? Do we also wear it for class? If so which class?

Third question: Any recommendations on shoes? Websites or actual locations?

Fourth question: do we start out clinical placement right away or do we report somewhere else? (Mines is on Fridays)

No. I ordered mine the 29th of July. They stated they make the shirts themselves and wait for a larger order. My shirt is supposed to be shipped out between the 16th - 20th. They said I should receive it before the first day of class.

Q1: No one in the office knows what comes next because it's Fatima responsibility. She comes back from vacation the 20th.

Q2: uniform will be worn your first day of clinical and you will report the first Friday clinical day to Lehman. After the first day it's up to the instructor to wear uniform on clinical days at Lehman.

Q3: go to nurse mates. The shoes are comfortable.

Q4: we don't start right away. We report to Lehman the first day and find out when we go to our site and when we report to Lehman.

by the way. Seems like we have all our classes together. Only difference is our clinical day. My day is Thursday. You can email me if anything at [email protected]

Thanks for your response. I was just wondering because I ordered mine on July 15th and the estimated ship date was yesterday but they still haven't sent it out.

DG82 is right so I won't reiterate the points they've made but I purchased these shoes. They were the best looking pair I could find that fit uniform regulations and they seem comfortable so far. Most people agree (and even I agree) that they run large so order .5 a size down. I ordered my regular size and had to exchange them for a 6.5.

None of us thought about the fact that on (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) end, documents being due two or so weeks before our first day of clinical means first day we will be in a hospital. Not our first day of clinicals where we'll be at lehman.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) the one who said that our documents were due on the 9th? Wasn't she the one who sent out our emails? No one else in that department knows what's going on.

I still havent received any emails from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) I am hoping I am not the only one who hasnt heard from her...Also, are people saying that there is more paperwork that is required?

Does anyone have the course codes for the clinicals. I have the Bronx VA but didn't write down the course code :(
