Lehman College 2018 Fall Generic BSN/ABSN applicants!

Published

Hello, everyone applying to Lehman's BSN/ABSN programs for Fall 2018!

I am currently working on my application and will very soon take HESI. I know application period does not start until January 1, but I thought I would create a thread so we could get in touch and support each other on the way to (keeping fingers crossed!) being accepted!

Wow, you definitely put a smile on my face. Thank you

I will do my best to #staypositive but they should hurry up!

You know I was thinking that they probably take extra students just in case down the road somebody doesnt submit all requested documents or fails the dosage exam... or simply does not start the program...

FYI I called my doctor today wanting to make an appointment for a physical and was told that I cannot because I am not due until October. They said that I have to fill out the form with the information from my last physical and get a new one in October or pay out of pocket. I called the nursing department and asked them if handing in a completed form filled out and signed by my doctor this month but with information from last year on it would be ok and the person on the phone basically said she guesses it will have to be ok if I can't get an appointment.

I went yesterday and they said they haven't finished calculating all the applicants gpa. They told me they will be sending emails until the 28th.

Maybe try a different doctor?

All you really need from your current doctor are your immunization records.

Heading to school now will post anything a hear.

Thanks for this. I'm in the same predicament except my physical expires in the middle of August. :( I'm thinking about seeing a different doctor.

Ok so this is all I was able to get an answer. All the responses should be put by next Friday. They said they are done with accelerated so they are only working on generic.

They also said wether or not you get aaceped you will receive an email.

They have about 20 something more emails to send out #fingerscrossed

Yea I would suggest that. You can always call your current doctor to get your records and then have a new doctor provide the physical examination. You can even try just doing it at an urgent care center.

I stopped by today as well! She said that there are about 20 generic seats left and 0 accelerated. She said that they will be sending out rejections via email (not sure when) Also, thanks Dr82!! I'm trying so hard to stay positive

Thank you for the update. Yes, we hae to stay positive becuase there are some people that will most likely go to another school due to the fact that they waited to long for Lehmans acceptance, and may have to reject Lehman. So we may have a chance. I hope.

Shouldn't that have been what they did before they started accepting people? Now those with super high GPAs might not get accepted...

Yeah that doesn't make sense. Should've calculated first then accepted those with high GPA's. Since they're basing it off on GPA

I'm looking into other schools like LIU. If anyone is interested, the advisor told me that there is no exam (it used to be the teas) required anymore. They are accepting walk-ins on Tuesday and Thursday!
