Lehman College 2018 Fall Generic BSN/ABSN applicants!

Published

Hello, everyone applying to Lehman's BSN/ABSN programs for Fall 2018!

I am currently working on my application and will very soon take HESI. I know application period does not start until January 1, but I thought I would create a thread so we could get in touch and support each other on the way to (keeping fingers crossed!) being accepted!

I read a lot of bad or mixed reviews about Pace and LIU but nothing too negative about college of New Rochelle. I was accepted to the college of New Rochelle as well.

Yes, i havent read anything negative about CNR

CNR is a really good school and great nursing program. I have a friend that goes there and she loves it. Only downside is the tuition

True it's very expensive but it's the same amount for LIU so if you had to pick between the 2 I would choose CNR my sister graduated from their nursing program a year ago. They can also be a bit disorganized but every nursing program has some disorganization and depending on where you live LIU can be really far.

I do not think so. In the packet, or the student handbook, I read that all of the paperwork must be submitted sometimes late August.

I'm confused because he packet says everything needs to be done my August but the health clearance form says we need to hand in everything during orientation

Guys does anyone have any information about the nursing program at Pace, LIU and College of New Rochelle. It's so hard to find recent information about those schools.

im trying to choose between the 3 of o don't get accepted to lehman

I have a friend who was just accepted to pace nursing program. It's a great program and fits her schedule. But has requires high gpa and a different test than the hesi. Requires more subjects. I think it needs vocabulary, grammar, etc.

I'm confused about it too. I think we should try to get everything done before the orientation. The sooner we finish, the sooner we can register for classes.

Does anyone know how long you have to accept the email for getting into the program?

Into which program? If it's Lehman you have 10 days to accept or they give it to someone else.

Hello you guys! I know many of you are super anxious about getting accepted into Lehman's Nursing Program. You all have gotten amazing scores! Be proud of yourselves. Don't give up the fight and remember to continue to stay positive.

I was in your situation back in 2014/2015 since I chickened out of taking the exam because of my science GPA (3.5) and ended up attending another school. Now I should be done in December (FINALLY).

If this school rejects you, remember that there are plenty of schools in NYC. You guys can look into LIU (which I currently attend), Pace, CNR, NYU, York, Hunter, etc.

If anyone has questions about the LIU nursing program, feel free to ask. It is expensive but remember, you are investing in your future! You guys got this!

Best of luck :)

Hello there!

So for clinical, I've actually had pretty good experiences with all clinical sites and instructors. Usually the sites are in Brooklyn, but there are a few Manhattan hospitals (Bellevue and Allen Pavillion) and Bronx facilities available. The only downside is that you won't know where you are placed until the semester is approaching (I still don't know my placement for this upcoming semester) AND sometimes the administration office can be disorganized :/

Schedule used to be more flexible since we used to be able to pick the time slots we wanted for our classes, BUT they began a new curriculum. Now they have like 3 groups per level (group A, B, and C) and they basically have the schedule already done for these groups. I hope that makes sense!

If any of you guys have any other questions, ask away! :)

Good luck!
