Lehman College 2018 Fall Generic BSN/ABSN applicants!

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello, everyone applying to Lehman's BSN/ABSN programs for Fall 2018!

I am currently working on my application and will very soon take HESI. I know application period does not start until January 1, but I thought I would create a thread so we could get in touch and support each other on the way to (keeping fingers crossed!) being accepted!

Took my hesi today and passed in terms of above 80 in each section and a 790 in Critical thinking.Super nervous since the scores were not up to my personal standards but fingers crossed

Hi!

I am also applying for the Fall 2018 admission into the accelerated program.

Pre req GPA: 4.0 (taking microbio and HIN 268 this spring)

HESI

Overall: 88.67

Math: 90

A&P: 80

Reading Comp: 96

Critical Thinking: 920

I know my GPA is high enough but I am very nervous about my HESI score.

I did poorly in A&P and I know there are very few seats in the accelerated program so if everyone else also has a 4.0 but has a 90+ on the HESI I am screwed!

I think your stats look terrific! Just have faith! You will do fine!

Hi, so happy you passed the HESI! I am taking it in about 2 weeks. Could you be so kind to tell what did you see most of in each section?

I'm not going to go too indepth because that goes against test rules.

Reading comprehension: Mainly "what does the author mean by this passage?" "What can you imply based on this passage?", and your average questions that can easily be answered by reading the passage.

Math: Mostly fractions (adding, subtracting, multiplying) and proportions.

Anatomy & Physiology: A mixed bag. Make sure your know all of your organ systems and what goes on in them.

Critical thinking: "Your patient is complaining about X, what should you do first?"

Disclaimer: This is what I saw on my exam. You may get something different. I'm not entirely sure how it will be for you. You're welcome.

I'll update my stats:

Program I am applying to: Generic

Current pre-requisite GPA: 3.83 (I'm taking orgo, microbio and HIN 268 (not included in GPA) now)

HESI Exam cumulative score: 92%

Math: 96%

A&P: 92%

Reading: 88%

Critical thinking: 850 (not as high as I wanted but I'm happy that I got over an 800.)

Specializes in Dialysis.

I know the person who asked probably won't say thanks but I wanted to thank you. You were spot on for my test. I got over a 90 overall.

Hello, I was wondering if there was any chem your Hesi exams?? I've heard someone I know say they didn't have any chem on their HESI Exam.

No, they only test you on A&P, Reading, Math and CT.

You were right! Not surprised though.

Hey!

There was no chemistry on the exam. There is only reading comprehension, math, anatomy and physiology, and critical thinking. If you signed up for the exam using Lehman's department code, you're only going to see those sections when you take the exam. Good luck!

Thank you so much! I did use Lehman''s department just wanted to make sure.
