Hello, everyone applying to Lehman's BSN/ABSN programs for Fall 2018!
I am currently working on my application and will very soon take HESI. I know application period does not start until January 1, but I thought I would create a thread so we could get in touch and support each other on the way to (keeping fingers crossed!) being accepted!
This happened to me as well and made me very angry! I waited in the nursing department for an hour before I was finally seen by an advisor and told that permission was only being given to people who are already RNs since they need the class and those who have not yet been accepted do not need it yet.I saw that there were still many seats left so I went back the day before the last day of advisement and successfully got permission. I definitely suggest trying again once the department starts summer advisement hours.
They should update the information on their website. It states that we are allowed to take hin 269 prior to or after we are accepted to the nursing program. If that's not the case anymore, they need to change the information. Weirdly enough, I went during the last day of advisement for Spring 2018 and that's what I was told. But yes, I'm definitely going to try again as soon as I get my acceptance letter. Maybe it's a good thing since I'm taking a LEH course during session I.
Your taking LEH? so did you also hear that rumor that you have to have both your LEH classes done before fall? its so confusing because in there sample course guide they put LEH in udring junior and senior year
Yes, I'm taking LEH 353. I just finished a LEH 352 course. I didn't hear that rumor but I heard that you're supposed to be finished or in the process of finishing all of your distribution/gen ed and language courses before you apply. It would be impossible for many on-track (graduating in 4 years) generic students to take an LEH course. You need to have at least 60 credits and a declared major to take an LEH course. Most applicants just reached 60 credits during this spring semester.

Sounds like some advisors are enforcing this unwritten policy and other aren't. I totally agree that the info should be updated in the course guide. Don't lead us to believe we can take it if advisors are going to tell us that we cannot.
sorry to butt in guys, but i heard you only needed 1 LEH 300 level course? can someone explain to me pls. thanks in advance!
One LEH 300 course to graduate or one LEH 300 course to enter the nursing program? For the former, I was told that you needed two to graduate. I am a non-transfer student. It may be different for those who are transfer students or second-degree students. I'm not too sure. As for the latter, I can't tell you anything about that.
Yes you should apply I've been accepted to new Rochelle as well and for undergrads generic they give a lot of scholarships ! The school is beautiful and the campus is huge is visited last week to do my last things for registering for the fall! I think a lot of you should apply they have rolling admissions until class starts. Class starts on the 7 of September and the last day to submit all your documents to apply is August 20th! So it's worth it l, I'll be traveling almost 2 hours 3 days a week 🤦ðŸ½*♀ï¸. But at this point I just want to be a nurse!
