Lehman College 2018 Fall Generic BSN/ABSN applicants!

Published

Hello, everyone applying to Lehman's BSN/ABSN programs for Fall 2018!

I am currently working on my application and will very soon take HESI. I know application period does not start until January 1, but I thought I would create a thread so we could get in touch and support each other on the way to (keeping fingers crossed!) being accepted!

Since it seems like being are being accepted already:

I thought of a little template we could use as we got accepted. It's extra so of course it's optional but here it is:

Accepted/Rejected

Program (generic or accelerated)

Science GPA

Hesi score w/ critical thinking

Cumulative gpa (optional)

Reason for being rejected (optional)

I thought it would make everything easier for future Lehman applicants to see the stats of some of the Lehman applicats this year and compare themselves to it. I know I was searching 2017 and 2016 for their stats. Sometimes I'd have to go back to the beginning, check what scores someone got on the hesi/what their gpa is, then go back and see if they got accepted. This just makes everything easier. Of course it's optional but I just wanted to put it out there.

Yes, I got in!

Congrats!

I remember you telling me that you finished all of your pre-reqs. Perhaps they calculated your GPA long before everyone else's because they already had all of your grades. Normally we don't hear back from them until mid-June. Congrats again!

Great idea! Here are my stats:

Accepted

Generic Program

Science GPA: 3.88

Hesi score: Math: 96, Reading: 82, A&P: 84, CT: 840

Cumulative GPA: 3.56

Congrats!!! Which program were you accepted into?

No email for me yet...anyone else?

Nope. I haven't received anything either.

Yes, I got in!

Congrats!

Do they typically send out acceptances for generic before accelerated?

Your stats are fantastic!! I wonder what that means for the applicant pool??

I think it depends. Reading the 2017 thread, the accelerated students commented about receiving acceptance letters a few days before the generic students did. Maybe they're doing something different this year? Who knows? Maybe those who finished their pre-reqs before Spring 2018 take priority.

I think the competition is very high this year--for the generic at least. I know many people with 4.0s who applied. Not too sure about the accelerated program but competition is always tough with them.

Accepted

Generic

Science GPA: 3.8

Hesi score w/ critical thinking: Overall - 92.67% CT - 930

Cumulative gpa: Not sure b/c I'm 2nd degree

has anyone replied to them?

One question: were you done with your pre-reqs before the spring 2018 semester?

Thank you! Yes, I was done with the pre-reqs.

Everything makes sense now. Those who were finished with their pre-reqs before Spring 2018 get accepted first. I think it's fair. In another lehman forum either for 2015 or 2016, someone stated that their friend received an acceptance in very early June.

That does makes sense. And it seems they are doing generic first (those that chose generic only.)

At least from previous posts we can probably expect a few waves of letters being sent out.

Keeping hope alive!
