Lecture notes sharing?

Published

My Pediatrics class is rather unstructured and unorganized, having it been taught by two professors with

no prior teaching experience.

Their lectures notes contain nothing but few pictures and simply assign massive amount of reading

from which no one in class can tell what is important and not important. And, this is ABSN program,

so it's not like we don't know how to study.

So I am asking for a favor to other fellow nursing students, is anybody outhere willing to share

their lectures notes from Pediatrics course?

I would really appreciate your help!

sometimes the book your class uses has a website you can go to that will have sample tests and study material to help you. not sure what book you are using but u mite be able to find some resources for your book if you do a search.

I agree with the advice given by the previous poster. Definitely check your books's website, accompanying CD, and even available workbooks to help organize your materials. You may also wish to ask previous graduates of your program if they have any lecture notes; yes, they had different instructors but maybe they used the same book.

Your course objectives and outline might give you an idea of how to prioritize your studying for exams.

I hope this helps. It sounds like you are in a difficult position and just want to learn this material that is presented to you.

Find a friend who knows how to take notes for that particular class and ask if they can share their notes. I give my notes to my friends and I have no problem with it.I am not selfish.

Im in the same boat but I am thankful that my book has a whole website with practice quizzes, vocab quizzes and actual videos for me to look back to. One of my professors is new and we are having a difficult time with him....sucks to be guinea pigs sometimes.

We have peds rolled into part of the next med/surg and I haven't had it yet. I'm in a hybrid program and I do not have lectures, so I'm in your shoes every class. :( We asked our "lecturer" last quarter for some kind of review sheet, because the material was insane, and her response: "Well, just review the assigned reading and all of the material on the provided CD with your book. I will test you from that." NO KIDDING LADY?! lol

Anyway, here's my method. I go through the reading (READ it all first) and then I look for certain things. They can't test everything! I look for things that are critical to patient safety, things that she can ask application questions from, trouble shooting issue, scenarios that would be great for the "what if" kind of questions. Then I do look at the CD with the book, but I find that my teachers don't pull much from there, maybe 2 questions out of 50. I also take a look at the HESI NCLEX exam review and Saunders under sections that apply just to get an idea of what they think is important. Does your book have practice NCLEX-style questions at the end of each chapter or section? Those are helpful.

Good luck, sorry you're in that position.

There are also tons of peds notes available online, at sites like Flashcards: The world's largest online library of printable flash cards . They have notes for soo many disciplines, it just takes a little searching to find what you need. Many people who have attended or are attending Excelsior College's nursing program also use this site. This might help you to supplement the information you are reading.

Im super late to the party but try straightanursingstudent.com and mednotes.nrt
