Hello ladies and gentlemen, My name is Shawna and this is my first time posting here. I have been lurking for awhile now but felt it was time to take the next step. I am finishing up my pre-reqs, and if things fall right, I should be in the nursing program Fall 2010. I am also a wife to an amazing man, and mother to two beautiful kids, Sierra age 3.5 and little Tony 16 months old. I have tons of questions but don't know where to start, so for now I will just hello, and I hope I can make a few study buddies along our journey to becoming awesome nurses! :heartbeat:D (

Hey Shawna, I'm Sacha. I'm really new to this site as well and our stories seem to be in line. I am also finishing my pre reqs and applying in either spring or fall of 2010. I'm a wife and mom to two crazy kiddos.
Life gets hectic trying to balance everything out and maybe we can be eachothers cheerleaders.

Hi Shawna! We have alot in common already! I hope that I am starting the nursing program by Fall 2010 as well. I am married with two kids about the same age as yours. We should keep in touch - sounds like we will be going through the same things about the same time and have family that is closely the same! Good luck

Hi all! I just joined tonight, b/c I have so many questions. I'm 38 yrs. old and just starting my pre-reqs this summer. I have 2 kids at home, 12 yr. old boy and 9 yr. old girl. I work full-time at a hospital as a Spanish Interpreter. I'm taking 3 classes this summer. I'm just wondering if I'm getting in over my head by taking 3 classes all at once plus work full time. Are you working full time and going to school??
Nice to meet you all! A few of our stories are similar, it will be nice to have someone to turn to that understands exactly what I am going through. Have you all completed GOBC and A&P yet? I am taking GOBC1&2 in the summer sessions, and A&P1&2 next fall and spring. I am very nervous and anxious about those courses, since those gpa's are what determines who is in the program each fall. I am an A student, but having that added pressure scares me. So if you all have taken it already, any advice you could share? What extra study materials should I get? ( flashcards, etc etc) Well, class is about to start so gotta run, but nice to meet ya'll.

Another 38 year old mom here! I have four kids, ages 13, 9, 7 and 3. I am currently taking my pre-reqs and co-reqs and I hope to begin the nursing program in the summer of 2010. I have my degree in Elementary Ed but I haven't taught since I had my son in 2000. This summer I am taking Statistics and Microbiology. Then A&P 1 in the fall and A&P 2 nest spring. I'm getting kind of worried about Stats and Micro at the same time. Stats is only a 6 wk class but Micro is all summer long.

I also am new here. My name is Yvonne, I am a 40 year old stay at home mom with teenagers (18, 16 and 13) (and they still won't leave me alone when I study ), I have been attending college since 2005, and have decided to switch my major to prenursing recently. I will be able to apply for the Nursing program in the Spring of 2010.
