  1. Hi all - I am relocating from Virginia to Cali in August, and I was wondering what good schools are in the area? I am finishing up my pre-reqs still, and I am curious what's available out there. Any info would be great!! Thanks to everyone! Tami
  2. I am relocating to Cali because I have lived on the East coast my whole life.... my best friend lives in Sacramento - so that's where I am going... and I will finish nursing school out there. :)
  3. Good luck everyone... Its nice to see other moms my age out there doing exactly what I am doing... I am starting to get a little nervous about A&P... I wish there were other people who lived close to me who I could study with... maybe bond with someone. It's been hard to express everything because even though I love my husband, it's just not the same to talk about everything I am going through, learning and such, and have him understand. In the area I live in, its VERY hard to make friends cause most are transient - and well... you have to commute everywhere.
  4. I know up here in the DC area they are ONLY hiring RN's with BSN's so you would have a better chance here... I am not sure about other places though.... Good luck sweetie... I hope it turns around for you.
  5. Unfortunately, is the same situation here. LPNs are being laid off, and the only new grades being hired are BSN or MSN graduates and none who have an ASN or ADN. I'm sorry, but I have heard it all over the place. I am here in NoVA - outside DC. Tami
  6. I am applying to the traditional program for fall 2010. I am currently a student there taking my pre-reqs.... If you need a study buddy let me know!
  7. Oh yeah - I work full time at a doctors office.. :) I know what you are going through...
  8. I too am applying to start fall 2010. I am taking 2 classes this summer, 3 in the fall, 3 in the spring... I am married also, and have 2 boys (ages 12 and 14). :) Hopefully I will be accepted into the program!!
  9. Haha.... how was Chem?
  10. You are kinda in the same boat as I am!!! LOL I am taking A&P I, Sociology and Global Understanding this fall. I just registered for my fall classes.... I am nervous!!!! Only 3 more classes after that and I am ready to go!!! I will be putting my application in, in January!!!!
  11. Okay Ladies & Gents - I am registering tomorrow for my fall A&P I - Fall classes start August 31st. Who's in my online study group?? :) Anyone taking classes this summer? I am just finishing up two required gen ed classes... HIST 100 and STAT 250 (yay) Tami
  12. I am applying to the traditional BSN program for the fall of 2010. I am currently a student at GMU taking my pre-reqs there. I found out that they are going to pull students who are "current" GMU students first, then transfer students... So if you can - take all your pre-reqs there... You are already familiar with GMU since you got your first degree there. It's a great school and I love it. Plus, it's closer to where I live in Manassas.... Springfield is too far for me to drive to go to school... Good luck everyone!
  13. I am a student at GMU myself, and I have to say, I LOVE it. I just started this spring, taking my pre-reqs and it's a great school. I am applying for the fall 2010 program, just because I need to finish a few loose ends before I put my application in. I am there on campus every Tues and Thurs, and I will be there on weekends as well (and all summer). I am by their definition a "sophomore" still - although I already have an Associates Degree and abut 80 credits under my belt... but they only transfered in 51 credits from my Florida Community College. Anyways, I will be happy to talk to you too. The numbers wanting to get in is large, yes... but that should tell you something... I learned that GMU has the largest nursing program in the State of Virginia, and possibly the 10th largest in the country. Don't give up - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Tami
  14. Where abouts are you from? :)
  15. I have to take A&P I, Sociology and Nutrition in the Fall.... (yikes!!) Anyone in the Northern Virginia area? Tami
