Just wanted to introduce myself!

Hello ladies and gentlemen, My name is Shawna and this is my first time posting here. I have been lurking for awhile now but felt it was time to take the next step. I am finishing up my pre-reqs, and if things fall right, I should be in the nursing program Fall 2010. I am also a wife to an amazing man, and mother to two beautiful kids, Sierra age 3.5 and little Tony 16 months old. I have tons of questions but don't know where to start, so for now I will just hello, and I hope I can make a few study buddies along our journey to becoming awesome nurses!:heartbeat:D (

Hi Shawna. My name is Brittany. I'm in the same boat. I have two little ones, 4 years and a 7 month old. I, too, am hoping to start the program in the Fall of 2010. How are your pre-req's going so far? I am taking A&P I this coming Fall and am really nervous!! It's nice to know there are other busy mom's on this crazy journey! :)

Welcome Shawna, I'll be finishing up my pre-reqs and starting the actual nursing portion as well in FALL 2010

Hi Shawna,

You and I are in the same boat. I am mother to three 14, 6, and 3 and wife to a man who works 13hrs a day. I am completing the last of my pre-reqs per 1 nursing program and applying there so keep your fingers crossed. The last of the classes are nutrition and that horrible horrible organic chem. I look forward to hearing from you again and write to me any time I will be a shoulder to lean on.

Another 38 year old mom here! I have four kids, ages 13, 9, 7 and 3. I am currently taking my pre-reqs and co-reqs and I hope to begin the nursing program in the summer of 2010. I have my degree in Elementary Ed but I haven't taught since I had my son in 2000. This summer I am taking Statistics and Microbiology. Then A&P 1 in the fall and A&P 2 nest spring. I'm getting kind of worried about Stats and Micro at the same time. Stats is only a 6 wk class but Micro is all summer long.

:) Brooke

Brooke,

Don't worry if I got through Chem anyone can :-} Congratulations and good luck I look forward to hearing from you on your journey.

Hello all! My name is Jennifer & I am a 35 year old mother of three. I have a son that is 15, and two daughters 12 & 13. I am starting my prereqs this summer and going full time in the fall to get them put of the way so that I can apply for the nursing program. I work full time right now and both of my girls do compitition cheerleading, so I keep pretty busy. I just wanted to introduce myself I am also newer to the site.

Jennifer :nurse:,

Good luck everyone... Its nice to see other moms my age out there doing exactly what I am doing... I am starting to get a little nervous about A&P...

I wish there were other people who lived close to me who I could study with... maybe bond with someone. It's been hard to express everything because even though I love my husband, it's just not the same to talk about everything I am going through, learning and such, and have him understand.

In the area I live in, its VERY hard to make friends cause most are transient - and well... you have to commute everywhere.

I wish I had someone as well that I could get through the pre-reqs and program with. I had one friend but she has fallen by the wayside and I am determined and not willing to let anything or anyone stop me.

I understand as well what you mean about your husband I told my husband about this website and all he had was something negative to say about people having to much time on their hands. Not saying that your husband is negative but sometimes I feel like mine says he is supportive but in reality really isn't.

That is why in this journey I am so thankful to have a very supportive family and a couple of family friends that are willing to help me with my kids!

Don't worry you will get in what is meant to be will be it just for some reason wasnt your time.

Hi there!!! I am so happy to see so many in the same place I am! I am Kyla, 27 year old mom of 2 adorable little girls, ages 5-1/2 years and 8 months. I work full time and will start taking my pre and co-reqs this summer. I have Psych and Soci this summer and then will take A&P I in the fall along with another Psych course. Hopefully I will have them finished in time to apply for either the Fall 2010 or Spring 2011 program.

So how do you all manage to make time for classes inbetween work and being a mom? For those of you that work, will you be quitting once you get into the program or will you continue to work full time?

I totally understand you all about your husbands. Mine thinks I have gone completely crazy.
