  1. Just wanted to say that this thread has helped me sooo much. I am scheduled to take the Kaplan tomorrow at 9am. Crossing fingers that I have studied enough!!! Good luck to anyone else who will be taking the test and to those still waiting to hear if you've made it.
  2. ndb0001 I'm hoping to take the Kaplan for NCTC as well...are you for sure going to be able to sit for the test? I'm waiting to see if anyone with 9 points is able to sit yet...good luck to you
  3. I have kids also and even when they aren't around I find myself getting distracted so I must study outside of the house. I also talk to myself, the kids, and my husband about the things I do know to get them to really stick. I sometimes keep flashcards with me of things that I'm having trouble with remembering.
  4. Hey Shawna, I'm Sacha. I'm really new to this site as well and our stories seem to be in line. I am also finishing my pre reqs and applying in either spring or fall of 2010. I'm a wife and mom to two crazy kiddos. Life gets hectic trying to balance everything out and maybe we can be eachothers cheerleaders.
  5. congrats!!! keep us updated on your journey.
  6. thanks ladies!! I took my AP classes at NCTC and am thinking of not even transferring the credits over to TWU and just retaking them there. I will receive the .4 credit so I know I have that to help and I have made mostly A's in my prereqs, some B's and a few classes that I will clep out of. I have a family and own a home in Denton, so relocating is pretty much out of the question and TWU is about my only option for a BSN, since commuting anywhere else will just be murder on me. I know of a few other options to receive my RN and if anyone else has info please do share. Thanks again your advice is much appreciate!!
  7. I am currently enrolled at TWU Denton, hopeing to be accepted into the nursing program. I have a few questions for anyone recently accepted and any advice on what I should do. I am wondering how they look at everyone who applied and how they choose to accept or not to accept. I know overall GPA needs to be at least 3.7 or above to be competative (advisor told me this) but do they look at the individual sciences GPA? I have a "C" in API and am finishing up with hopefully a "B" in APII. I still have micro and chemistry to go. I am wondering though if I should plan on retaking API and APII before I even apply? Also, how many students are accepted each semester? thanks
