Did you feel more comfortable with the questions and the material asked in the questions this time?

Did you follow my study plan exactly? Did you use other books or CDs to review with?

The type of questions that you are describing are considered being of a higher level, that is a good thing. The number of questions still means absolutely nothing.

Please keep me posted. It should not take this long to get a response from CA, as they already have all of your documents from before. Just go out and enjoy the holidays, there is nothing else that you can do.:)

actually, some of the questions I did not have any trouble picking the right answer ( I even picked an answer just by reading the scenario...and then the answer I had in mine was in one of the choices..so I picked it)...I just found it a bit harder with the ones I was not so familiar with. Yes, I have followed your 6 week program exclusively..Did about 5000 practice questions (just the CD)..Oh gosh! I hope I passed......

I've been reading your messages regarding NCLEX RN #2. I recently took the RN exam for the 1st time and failed. I'm so discussed with myself. - I do know others have and will be in the same boat. Any suggestions on studying for the next round. Because I failed my "hospital" put me out to pasture and I'm not working - may end up losing everything over this relocation failure. I'm hoping to go to Dallas and get a job as an LPN so $$ starts coming in - I can stay with friends. If I knew then what I found out now - I would have stayed in Phoenix and made a lot more $$.

I studied for almost 3 months via the Saunders review. I did 200-400 questions almost everyday and was still unprepared. My test was 1/3 peds - which I knew nothing about :) and then lots of priority, deligation questions. I definitely need a new game plan before trying again. I will, however, not take boards via MO, but in my home state of Iowa or TX - since both are compact states.

The biggest problem that I can see right off is that you trying to do way too many questions per day. You should be doing no more than 100 per day, and concentrating on the rationales behind each and every answer.

Not sure if you are familiar with how the compact license actually works. It is only good if you maintain residence in your home state. Then you can still work in the other compact sttes with that license, but if you have actually moved entirely, then the compact license is not any good to you. It was originally designed for nurses to work in border states without having to go thru another licensing process, etc. It also works well for nurses that are in the travel industry (for nurses), but in terms of regular work, when you have actually moved, then it does not cover you.

Thanks for your input. I do know about the compact states. I will probably not move for awhile as I have a house to sell and will be mooching off a friend until that happens. I'll go back to doing just 100 questions per day to see if that helps me retain more content. Thanks again.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..I'm going insane...I can't function normal...My stomach feels funny and I can't enjoy life after that dreaded exam last Saturday...Should I start studying again? Or maybe I should challenge the LPN boad exam??? This is such a nightmare:crying2: I know and I can feel that I have failed...again! :angryfire :lol2: :chair: :beer:

I took my test the second time around on 6/27, and I just found out today 6/29 that I passed! I got the total amount of questions 265, with only 11 minutes to spare left on the clock. The first time I took the exam I had 220 questions in only 3 hours... 2nd time around--I took my time this time using strategies from Kaplan review class and practice questions from Saunders. I truly believe all this helped me. :nurse:

I am so depressed again after taking the dreadful exam the second time around. Question # 1 already got me, I had no clue what to answer and I spent about 3 minutes figuring it out and I guessed I still ended picking the wrong answer. My exam stopped I think between 102-110, I'm not sure if I got the last question right ( it was about a pt who is to undergo septoplasty and asked which pt statement should the nurse be concerned about...I do not remember the other 3 choices but I picked the statement where the pt said he has been taking advil...so I thought this would cause him to bleed more)...I had tons of delegation/prioritzation that were sppread throughout the exam, a couple of disaster questions where you have to discharge a pt in order to make room for the new admit...Mainly who to assess, see, and return call first and also who would benefit from Home health Nurse/service. No math/calculation/new format type of questions. Some OB, developmental stage (peds/elderly), psych....Oh, lots of teaching too...Gosh, I'm so worried that I may have not made it again this time. My feelings are worst than when I took it the first time...Of course, CA doesn't participate in the quick result service so I have to wait...wait...and wait...Last time I waited almost 6 weeks only to find out that I failed...I felt like none of my studying helped..I did closed to 5000 questions and follwed Suzanne's program for 6 weeks......Arggggghhhhhhhhh...I feel so dumb...dumb.....dumb...dumb...the questions weren;t actually as hard but getting down to 2 possible answer and picking the right one is what makes it hard...can;t even apply MASLOW and ABC's sometimes....Should I start reviewing again for #3???
