This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.
To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or Drexel or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.
Thanks!
Congratulations Regina13, it has to be a wonderful feeling to have completed your journey! EDnurse2009, hang in there and the best of luck to you on Friday! My test date is July 10th and I wake up every morning and tell myself...I know this stuff...I can do this. I hope all of the prep work pays off for all of us!:redbeathe
I took the NCLEX on 23 June and passed ! Here's what I used.
1. Our school used the ATI testing and assessment course supplements. Their website is at http://www.atitesting.com and you can purchase (for about $40) comprehensive online predictor exams with focused reviews and/or book and DVD materials. We got most of these tools in the nursing program, but I did purchase the comprehensive NCLEX exam for $40 as additional confidence building. ATI is known for their content mastery.
2. I also signed up for the classroom version of the Kaplan NCLEX preparation offerings ($499). They also have it in an online version for less (about $299, but don't quote me, just a ballpark estimate). I thought their classroom review was excellent and the one thing that Kaplan taught was critical thinking on HOW to answer questions. The Kaplan website is http://www.kaplan.com
3. There are others (e.g. Hursh, NCSBN, and others)....but these are the two I selected and I passed with about 77 or 78 questions.
Good luck!

:yeah:congratulations on passing!!!
:yeah:
I took boards on June 23rd. After a tense 48 hours, I just found out
I PASSED!!!! Very relieved. Very happy.
I felt just like everyone else. Sick afterwards---felt like there was no
way I could possibly pass. It was comforting reading the board and
seeing that everyone else felt the same way.
Congratulations, shelfish!

:imbarI test tomorrow 6/26 and am a little nervous. I'm trying not to get too anxious as I'm sure that will happen tomorrow right about 8am. Any last minute suggestions for relaxation during the test? I've studied for about three weeks now and know I haven't covered everything, but how could I when we barely went over most everything these last two years? Anyhow, I will let you know how it goes, pray for me :)

Taz, good luck, you certainly have a busy/stressful week. Looking forward to the good news that you are a newly married RN.
