This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.

To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or Drexel or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.

Thanks!

ok so I just finished nclex and I know I failed I had no delegations but had prioritys,2 math 6 sata and lots of teaching what do u think am. I one of the fail at 75?

One of the gals from our class took the NCLEX last week and passed with 85. She said she had maybe 1 or 2 SATAs, 2 meds, and mostly delegation/prioritization.

Hopefully, your results will be similar!! Best wishes!! :redbeathe

Be sure to let us know!!

Thanks! I guess I just feel that I don't warrant those scores because I feel like I am guessing on a lot of them. I just wish I felt more confident when I selected an answer because I knew it and not because I narrowed it down the best I could. I am mostly just focusing on getting more right then wrong and understanding all the rationales. I just hope that it is enough.

Good luck on your test!!! I think that your plan sounds like a good one. The videos are really long and they took me what seemed like forever to complete. I plan on rewatching the Pharm as I am weak in that area. That and review infection control and any weak areas I come across.

You and I sound so much alike! I am the same way and hate having to guess on some of these questions, but at the same time, we can't know and will never know everything! I get frustrated sometimes because I feel that the kaplan strategies don't always work for me and it sucks when you hope they work and can't! I wish I had more confidence also! I think getting more right than wrong is good because thats what we've gotta do on the NCLEX! My weak areas are also pharm and infection control! See- I told you we sound a lot alike! I just go to the library for the night and am about to start on pharm now! :banghead: Thanks for the good luck wishes! Keep me posted on your progress and I will definitely let you know how Saturday goes! Take care and talk to you soon! :heartbeat

Okay so I just got back from NCLEX. I took the entire 265 questions. The strange part is...I don't feel freaked out like I was expecting I would. I had a ton of pharm and mental health, a few diseases I have never heard of, the rest was a bit of everything else... SATA, calcs, priority, safety, infection control, deligation, ect. Don't know where I stand at this point but I will keep you all posted.......although it was brutal sitting there for 5 hours straight....I didn't take a break because I kept hoping it would shut off. Oh well out of my hand now. I heard that there are a few that are randomly selected to take the entire test even if the computer determined that they passed...anyone else hear this rumor?

I've heard it, but who knows if its just a rumor....

If you feel good about it, then hopefully, it will turn out good for you!! I have read plenty of comments over the time of being an AllNurses member about people having 265 and passing. :)

LyndseyER,

Ok, you passed. You know if you got priority questions they are higher level and the dosage calcs are too. Keep your spirits up. You know your stuff so it will be alright and you will be writing RN, heck just go ahead and start doing it now.

To all of you that have tested or getting ready to test I wish you all the luck in your new career as an RN. Just tell yourself you passed and then look it up online.

:tinkbll:ICU2008,

Thank you, and congrats on your new career too. I started my internship last month but I have only been on the floor for a couple of days although I feel like I really just started today. ha-ha. What area are you in or should I ask [iCU2008]? I hope you will really enjoy your chosen area of nursing and your check too of course.

Ok just got home from my N-Clex, I don't know what to feel about it, I just don't know!! I had 4 math questions that was hard and then I had so many choose all that apply then I had 3 EKG question and meds, the meds was easy I just didn't know to answer all that apply for the meds hahahhah!!! At 75 the computer became dark and then blue then that was it. Well the lady told me you will know by tomorrow,a I told her I was felling very sick of my stomach and she said, take a deep breath this is normal. Now she also told me Good luck!! and I thought "now is to late I already took my test". Then on my way out the lady asked me if I want to pay for the quick results, and I told her no and then she asked if I was going to wait 4 weeks for the result and I told her no because I can check with the board of nursing and she said "True" so I don't know if that was a hint that she was giving to me that I didn't pass on the exame so I need to know fast. I prayed this morning and I had lots of people praying for me. I just don't know how to feel, I don't know if I pass or not, its crazzy, does anybody there felt the same?

Thank you!!!

:D I just found out from the AR BON website I PASSED!!!!!! woohoo!!!!

I took the drexel review but didn't like it at all. I read through most of the saunders review and bought a 08-09 Kaplan book that had two practice tests. I found those to be very helpful. With that book you can sign up form about 27 SATA, fill in the blank questions on the Kaplan website that were really helpful. Kaplan questions were the most like NCLEX questions. Suanders was really good review of content. And I used my notes from my instructors too. I studied for a month after graduation. I had 75 questions, 25-30 SATA, and one calculation. I am so glad to be finished with the NCLEX.

i took the nclex yesterday and also had all 265 questions. i can't say that i don't feel dreadful about it. i did it in about 4 1/2 hours and took about 4 3 or 4 minute breaks to go to the bathroom. i cried when i got to the car from the stress of it. i kept hoping it would turn off. once i was at 200 and then they kept coming i thought,'oh my goodness, i am going to end up taking it all'. i felt like i failed and that is what the review instructor said we would feel when we leave the exam no matter how many questions we got. crazy! i have to wait at least 72 hours to see if i am posted on the brn website as a RN. the test was much harder than i expected. i had done about 1500-2000 practice questions with a saunders nclex CD along with the hurst review. i felt saturated but there were alot of things i had to guess on because i didn't know it or just couldn't remember! yikes. good luck to you...
