Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone here is supposed to attend OBLC this upcoming January (2009). Not 100% at this point whether I will be or not, but figured it wouldn't hurt to start trying to make some contacts. My commissioning package was supposed to meet the board in August but I guess there were some fixes that needed to be made so I was placed on the back burner. Was told that my package is supposed to be before the board today though and should hear back by next week (pretty exited right now). My wife is currently active duty AF Nurse Corps, but is in the final stage of securing an interservice transfer to the Army Nurse Corps and we both hope to attend the January OBLC class.
Hope to hear from some of our future classmates soon.
For those of you attending the Jan. OBLC course. It may behoove you to complete the AT Level 1 Training online prior to showing up to Ft Sam H. It only takes about an hour and it will be nice to have it done prior to attending. Just one less thing to do when you get there.
Print the cert when done, make copies, and make sure you bring copies with you.

LOL....I forgot I have to redo all my computer training, transfering from AF to Army. I should have it memorized by now . Thank you for the site, it will lessen our requirements when we get there and start runnin' around.
airforcecaptI couldn't have said it better. Yes I will give the pt test my 100% but I am not going to set myself up for failure and expect 100% on my score. My job is to set a good example for our soldiers but more important, give 100% in caring for our most precious Americans--our soldiers!!! That is something we all can agree on (or I hope so) or we wouldn't be doing this. If this is not your reason-- to serve our men and women who risk their lives for our freedom, then you are in it for the health care for govt. health care for the wrong reason. Please lets just keep them in mind. I hope and pray that if my boys were injured (please God keep them safe) I would rather have someone with the right knowledge, care and compassion taking care of them then some one who is only worried about 100% rating on pt. Lets all stand together for outr troops and stop worrying on who is the best. Just do your best in all areas and we will all be successful.
:yeah::yeah:I know if I were injured I would want someone with compassion, courage, knowledge and skills to take care of me. Rather he/she has abs of steal or made a 100% on the pt test won't mean a thing. :bowingpur ( i like this smilley)
2 Notes:1. This thread is the most active and largest in this forum - what will happen in JAN and after when these nurses have been through OBC?
2. Behoove - as posted above.... one of my favorite vocab that is a rare species in the non-mil world
Behoove is a great word isn't it? :chuckle

I am going this January, AD.
I don't want anyone thinking after seeing this post that we don't want them posting here if they are not going in January. We have had some really good discussions from everyone on this string and I don't want it to end. I just wanted to get a clearer picture of who the January people are
