January CEP applicants?

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi fellow students! I am applying to the CEP program for the Summer 2016 start (NAU)- I know the deadline is coming up January 30... just wondering who else is applying/has applied, and how you're feeling? Excited to start? Nervous you won't get accepted (like ME!)? Just wanted to say "hi" and get connected!

Yes, thanks! I applied to both GCC and Gateway with NAU. And next week would be great, but knowing it's not just me is super reassuring :)

Ya. I applied to nau through pvcc but with Gcc as my first choice for maricopa. My pvcc advisor did let me know that I was eligible with nau and just waiting for maricopa placing. She said nau orientation would be in March. Pvcc seems to be on top of it. It seems that each college handles everything a little differently.

Wow, they are really torturing you guys with the wait!! I'm block 3 at MCC/NAU CEP and it only took 10 days for us to get notified that we got in! I hope they let you know soon. Hang in there! You guys will be nurses before you know it!! :)

Ahh, I see - it's nice to learn the little things a bit at a time...hopefully I'll feel less overwhelmed in a few months. =) Thanks to everyone for being so sharing with the information, I think this is a super group of people.

FYI, the NAU patch is NOT a requirement. Optional if you choose. :)

I know this is not the norm, but I am happy to wait to hear! Once the word is out it's just another game of stress and more information for my brain. I can definitely wait!

What an awesome attitude! Good for you! I'm feeling frustrated lol

What school did u apply to? I talked to my advisor and She said they are doing maricopa placements and would know for sure by feb 23
When you say by Feb. 23rd, is that everyone no matter where we've applied? I applied for NAU at EMCC with Gateway as choice #2 and haven't heard anything yet. :/

Hi everyone :) i have been trying to find a post for the FALL 2016 applicants. i applied at EMCC back in December. Did anyone receive a conformation email when they turned in their CEP application? On one of the papers that we had to sign it said we would get an email in about 3 weeks saying our application has been received. i never got one and i was wondering if anyone else did.

I think so but I don't want to say 100% bc I'm not sure. When I got my email from my pvcc advisor she said we would know maricopa placements within the week. When I didn't hear back, I called and asked and she said the schools had until the 23rd to place. Since it seems like nobody else has heard from their advisor, I assume they are doing it all at once bc she said March 1st they would be sending out info about nau orientation. Maybe my advisor only contacted me to let me know I'm eligible for nau as a courtesy. Doesn't seem like any other schools have reached out

Whew. I had so much issues with my application (advisor lost documentation papers) i was fearing she never submitted it. I am so excited to start! Hopefully we hear soon!

I had some issues too. Honestly, in hindsight, I think my advisor purposely misled me. At my last advising session she advised that I only needed Pathophysiology to apply for CEP (I really also needed statistics but planned on taking it right now, without any other classes, and when applying to NAU you can have up to 7 credits in progress, etc..). I was *pretty* sure I needed another class. She assured me that my small group communications class I took years and years ago counted twoards the AGEC because the year that I took it it was considered a class in that category - if that makes sense. I asked her three times "ARE YOU SURE??" And she assured me - I only needed Patho. I took patho. Went to apply, and what does she tell me, do you think?? Not only do I need statistics (which I KNEW and planned for) but I also need Chemistry. What?! Good lord, chemistry and statistics?? NOT what I wanted to do. Not what I planned for. Ugh. So annoying. But with chemistry I will have an Associates degree which NAU likes better anyway. But still, I think she knew what she was doing in the last semester. I didn't want to apply to NAU with 7 credits in progress, and I would have taken CHM last semester so I could take stats solo. Anyway, I'm just complaining, but it's really not that big of a deal - just an annoyance. I think she knew I'd take chemistry if I were forced to (I did NOT want to take it and was using my high school CHM). Down to the wire - I am forced to really (I could have taken any SQ class actually). In reality, stats isn't that hard, and my CHM class is WAY more work than I expected (I knew I didn't want to take this class! Grr!!) - and I'd rather be taking CHM solo. Anyway, all that to say that I am not surprised to hear that the advisors make mistakes, no matter how disconcerting it may be - they are human - but jeesh, to have to wait another semester or more to get in, because of an advising mistake?? ANNOYING. Glad you got your issues cleared up! Sorry for my rant. lol.
