January CEP applicants?

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hi fellow students! I am applying to the CEP program for the Summer 2016 start (NAU)- I know the deadline is coming up January 30... just wondering who else is applying/has applied, and how you're feeling? Excited to start? Nervous you won't get accepted (like ME!)? Just wanted to say "hi" and get connected!

Wow already?! Congratulations!!! When and where did you apply from?

Congrats!!!

This is what it says:

Hi,

Your application has been reviewed by NAU and they have determined that you are eligible for their CEP program.

For the next step, Maricopa will begin placing students the first week in February.

Best,

thats good right?? It doesn't say accepted it says eligible which is freaking me out a little.

I applied on Jan 21st. She told me it would be 2 weeks from Jan 22nd bc that was the day she was turning in her applications. I applied at pvcc

Oh gosh that's the same day I applied... So nervous now! Although my advisor at EMCC said that we wouldn't hear until March... I'm assuming she may have been mistaken?

Which is Emcc? March doesn't seem right though bc at the bottom of my email it says maricopa placements are first week of feb which is this week. Did you take a look at the email that I copy and pasted? I'm nervous about it bc it doesn't explicitly say 'accepted'

EMCC is Estrella Mountain in Goodyear. She may have thought I was talking about the Maricopa placements as that's when the application status page says they will begin. That would make me nervous too!

I know right? Maybe I didn't get in? I emailed my pvcc advisor to clarify exactly what that means. I'll let you know!

Ya - I think it's good, but I think maricopa colleges still have to do their placement system, and there is some hierarchy to that still, so nothing is for sure yet - I guess..? What I find funny is how all the maricopa schools have different processes for this. They sent you a letter saying you were eligible - I applied at GCC before the 21st- I didn't get that letter. But I know for sure I'm eligible. Don't we ALL know we're eligible? We wouldn't have been allowed to even apply had we not met all the requirements, right?

Yea!! That's exactly why it threw me off, I'm thinking "well isn't everyone is eligible?". At first, I was super excited bc I got an email but then the more I looked at it, I felt confused. I don't know why they would mention maricopa placement of i didn't get in, but it's definitely not clear. Hopefully she responds ASAP in the morning

Good luck!! Let us know what your advisor says!

So maricopa has to wait for the approvals of the university's so they can do their placement at the CCs. You will get an email from the community college that you get placed at.

For my placement this spring I applied last June and got the email from GCC when they placed us but didn't get placed by the system until October ish. Unless they have changed how they are doing things that's about what you guys experience.
