January CEP applicants?

Published

Hi fellow students! I am applying to the CEP program for the Summer 2016 start (NAU)- I know the deadline is coming up January 30... just wondering who else is applying/has applied, and how you're feeling? Excited to start? Nervous you won't get accepted (like ME!)? Just wanted to say "hi" and get connected!

I'd like to go ahead and get my scrubs and shoes to spread out the costs ahead of time (and, admittedly, I'm just excited)! Do you guys know- is it still the teal Maricopa scrubs, or the white ones? I read somewhere that you can buy them in any style and have the emblem embroidered on. Is this still true? What are the requirements for the shoes? Where can I get the NAU sleeve patch?

Best of luck to everyone! I can't wait to hear when you all are receiving your acceptance letters!

Apparel Pro in Tempe knows the uniforms as well, too. You could also get a stethoscope.

They're strict on all black or white and non porous too. You will be considered out of uniform if your shoes are all white with a black logo for example. Someone wore canvas all white shoes and was considered "out of uniform" because they are considered porous. Also keep on the look out for girls/guys selling old uniforms, as I was able to buy most of mine at 5$ a piece as opposed to 25$ a piece they will be retail! Just an option :)

Perfect, thanks all! You guys confirmed what I expected. I've been to apparel pro- they are awesome! They gave my husband a 25% discount on my Littmann Classic III (Christmas gift) because I had previously told them I was becoming a student. You guys should check it out if you are in the market for a stethoscope!

Also, the reason I ask about the style of scrubs is because I am very slim with very long legs so my pants tend to become "highwater" very fast :/

Ashbee that is my problem too!! they have "petite long" styles at apparel pro but I just gave in to the high water life lol

You're braver than me! I can't buy anything yet, because I think I'd be super disappointed if for some reason I didn't get accepted (hey, you never know, right?!). Also, what is the NAU patch, and how do you know anything about an NAU patch? LOL. =)

If you are going to NAU you are required to wear the school patch on your sleeve of your scrub top.

Ahh, I see - it's nice to learn the little things a bit at a time...hopefully I'll feel less overwhelmed in a few months. =) Thanks to everyone for being so sharing with the information, I think this is a super group of people.

Lol I hear you there! I just figure if I don't get CEP, I at least will start the associates at some point anyway. :) the NAU patch goes on the sleeve on your scrubs to signify during clinicals that you are also in the NAU school of nursing... Or whichever other university you are partnered with! I have very briefly read about this on here because I was really hoping to wear NAU scrubs (I'm an NAU alum) but I was told otherwise.

Just to save you guys some money when you do buy scrubs- you can buy other brands of pants in the same Caribbean Blue color. The pants don't have the Maricopa emblem anyway. I found a pair in the back left corner of Apparel Pro for only five bucks. Also helps for those who need tall styles, etc.. I also found another pair for $14 that had a super soft waist band (comfortable for those 12 hour clinical days!).

Fingers crossed this week is the week we hear backí ½í±

I just got a letter stating i was accepted to NAU!
