Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.
We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?
Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.
And you are? Because for the last few posts everyone else read commented, and have moved on to other issues. Please leave the past posts in the past. Also, it's not just me. If you read the post you so adamantly feel offended your innermost being, you'd have also ready "cohort". Thank you. No No No.... @Butterfly you did step on some toes with that remark. Some posters are not posting there comments because they don't want to be in the midst of drama. At times your response to posts sound rude, and the tone of your post can be rude. Yes sometimes you give advice, and it may come off as being unsolicited. This is a forum and yes we have a right to are opinion, but you also have to show some respect to others. As a matter of fact many of us are wondering. Why do you constantly linger on this thread when? Most would think you should be studying GIGU. I'm just saying you make nursing look easy with all this free time you demonstrate on allnurses. Now the last thing I want is this thread to be shut down because of cattiness. We all need to respect each other and be mindful of the things we say.[/quote']
Um. I passed GIGU. So... Why are you concerned with my schooling? As long as I'm doing what I'm supposed to do that's all that matters. :) Easy? I can be on allnurses sporadically. Nursing is NOT my whole world and I do have free time to eat and sleep as well. :)
Moving on...Does the sponsorship officials from the Memorial and Broward visit all three campuses or just one? Is it after your first semester? How many student to they seek to assist? Thanks. How You Doing Getting to Great.
Does the sponsorship officials from the Memorial and Broward visit all three campuses or just one. Yes
Is it after your first semester? Yes
How many student to they seek to assist? They don't give a number.
Hope that helps.
I cried my river now it's time to get it together...LOL. Thanks for the information Mrs. Fearless_Leader;)
Well it appeared to be focused towards me because the phrase "we need smart nurses" was in my post. About the other BC students getting agitated or whatnot it's unfortunate that they get upset or idk what you wrote its in asterisks, but offense need not be taken. I can be a very sweet person, I am a nurse, but from previous students who have PMed me months prior their tone conveyed rudeness as well and I'm a no-nonsense person. My cohort knows how I really am in person and I'm pretty easygoing. I enjoy assisting people but when I stated a fact and/or opinion and they have gotten offended it's not something controllable. This is a thread. We can voice opinions, but when someone ATTEMPTS (general population in thread or person) I either walk away or respond in a way that is assertive but I apologize if it's misconstrued :)

And how bout I got offended when you said, or sounded like you were saying in a previous post I will most like
Fail at south campus, just because a friend of yours is retracking.

Really? Most likely fail? When on this green Earth did I say that? I said South is VERY TOUGH. A lot failed. Fact: Half the class failed. I also said over half my group failed also. Idk why you decided to pick and choose words. I wasn't even talking about you. Wow.

Also, if someone asked you how the program is once you're in, would you sugarcoat it? I don't like sugarcoating. I asked the SAME questions and it was sugarcoated. Luckily, I had been in a nursing program so her story of going out every weekend didn't decide for me the ease or difficulty. I just expected A LOT of work.
Hi everyone, Im new to this forum. I am shooting for the May nursing program at Broward and just had a view questions.
Broward goes by your pre-req gpa ONLY right? That what it seems like on the website but people have told me other wise.
What was the cut off point for the January program?
Lastly how exactly is the point system broken down, I cant seem to find any information on that.
Any info would be appreciated! Thank you so much!
[COLOR=#003366]dream61792 Hey.... things have changed a bit since August 2012 as you can see. I remember you coming on and posting back then. Did you ever get into Barry or FIU (was it)?
If you do not make it leave with your Head Held High because one school does not make your Destiny. :-) I agree. Thanks for the advice.

All three. In GIGU (2nd semester). About 7-8 recipients from all three total not per campus. :)
