Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.

We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.

Congratulations!!!!

As far as the campuses, after you attend the general orientation, they will tell you a specific date and time that registration for your courses will open. There are X amount of seats at each campus and it is a first come first serve basis. Everyone is usually ready to click away when registration opens so just plan ahead when you receive the course information, and you will most likely get the campus of your choice.

Books...you'll definitely need both Perry and Potter's Fundamentals and Skills books. These 2 will be the majority of your reading. Everything else you can get as you need.

Congrats again!!!

thank you so much for all your responses!! I really appreciate it!! Books have been ordered I cant wait to start reading lol :specs:

Can someone tell me if there is an CD/DVD that helps you better understand nursing questions/test taking strategies? I was told it was available in central campus nursing lab. If so what is the name of it. Your response will be greatly appreciated.

Hey.how is it at south?

Hey how do u like it at central

What textbooks does this school require?

Are any of you guys about to graduate this semester?

I came back to this thread to say. I finally graduated nursing school. Though I did not make it at BC. I made it, I am happy and that's all that matters. If anyone wants to take on nursing as a career. Fight for it don't give up no matter what. Now I'm off to study for my NCLEX and August 2017 I will start my BSN portion.

So what school did you attend?
