  1. If she is still letting you record, listen to her lectures!!! Know your fluid and electrolytes inside and out...you'll need to know them forever! Do a lot of practice questions to familiarize yourself with the format. Good luck!
  2. My school does not operate like that. You have 1 fail and 2 withdrawals. Your 2nd fail (below a 73), and you're out. You must got to LPN school and secure an LPN license before attempting to come back into the RN program. We also have a math exam on the 1st day of every new clinical. You are only allowed to miss 1 question. They do offer 1 chance, 1 week later, to re-take, and if you fail again, then you don't attend clinical that rotation and must take a remedial math course and skills class, setting you back a semester. If you do choose to withdrawal for whatever reason, you must also take a college skills class and clinical skills class in order to resume classes, setting you back a semester, maybe 2. It is interesting to see the way other colleges operate.
  3. Hmmm...well this changes for me. I work per diem in the hospital overnight. I have clinicals and theory during the day. I have 2 boys, 1 of whom is in football right now (ugh). So, as of present time, I find myself studying early mornings at my desk in my room with coffee in tow before everyone wakes up. I get a good hour or 2 in that way. Other locations...dining room table downstairs, Starbucks, the library NOT at school, break room at work, and car. I have to get it in where I can, but I know me, and I have to be able to be awake enough and ready to retain the info as well. Quiet works best for me, sometimes with a little background music. I cannot study at the school library because I'm always running into someone, and then I chit chat. Groups don't work well for me because, well...I talk...a lot!
  4. Oh, and just to add, that grade is based on exams only. Papers/ clinicals are strictly pass/ fail.
  5. 74 at my school, NCLEX pass rate is 94%
  6. Congratulations!!!! As far as the campuses, after you attend the general orientation, they will tell you a specific date and time that registration for your courses will open. There are X amount of seats at each campus and it is a first come first serve basis. Everyone is usually ready to click away when registration opens so just plan ahead when you receive the course information, and you will most likely get the campus of your choice. Books...you'll definitely need both Perry and Potter's Fundamentals and Skills books. These 2 will be the majority of your reading. Everything else you can get as you need. Congrats again!!!
  7. Yes, I'm in Process 2 now, started the program in January. It's intense, but you can do it!!!
  8. That's a good thing!!! It won't change to admitted until after you attend orientation and secure your seat by submitting all of your paperwork, physical, background check, etc. Keep checking your email!
  9. I'm at Broward and it IS intense, but not impossible. You have to REALLY want it and there are a select few making the A's, although most fall into the B-C range. As for the math exams, it's basic math, and important to just take your time and not make silly mistakes. These are people's lives we're dealing with after all. You can be held to the same legal standards as an RN or MD when doing your rotations in the hospital. The biggest thing to remember is that you really must devote your life to the program, you will read more than you ever have. Remain focused, stick to a schedule, and surround yourself by positive people. I have a friend going to a private school, where practically anyone can be a nurse as long as you pay. I want to be pushed though to be the best that I can be. Good luck everyone!!!
  10. I'm at North and for process 1&2 we were allowed to record. Definitely depends on the teacher. Pharmacology, not allowed.
  11. Anyone here going to North Campus?
  12. I'm right there with you! I just finished my finals for this semester yesterday and start the RN program in January. I've started buying some of my books and my reading assignments were handed out at orientation this week. It most definitely feels strange not having to study tonight...or this weekend...but I'm going to take a mental break over the next week and get things organized with my household, kids, etc. Then I plan on starting on some reading.
