This thread is about supporting each other. Allnurses promotes the idea of lively debate. This means you are free to disagree with anyone on any type of subject matter as long as your criticism is constructive and polite. We also ask members to please refrain from name-calling. This is divisive, rude, and derails the thread.

Our call is to be supportive, not divisive.

We will receive an email from south campus next week with the orientation date.

Hi everyone, Im new to this forum. I am shooting for the May nursing program at Broward and just had a view questions.

Broward goes by your pre-req gpa ONLY right? That what it seems like on the website but people have told me other wise.

What was the cut off point for the January program?

Lastly how exactly is the point system broken down, I cant seem to find any information on that.

Any info would be appreciated! Thank you so much!

Yes the gpa is calculated with your prerequisites for the program. Meaning any extra math or reading classes and even chemistry is not included in the calculation. The application process is now open ended, meaning that they keep accepting applications until all the seats are filled. The point system goes by your gpa. 4.0-3.0 ranges from 16-6 points with sixteen being the highest amount for gpa. You also get another point if you live in broward and even more points if u were in hosa back in high school

Remember if your on a success plan you have to meet with the dean before nov 1!!

Hi everyone, (I'm reposting this with the hope that someone can give me insight!)

It's been a long time since I've posted anything because I decided I wasn't going to apply this cycle. But it turns out I did! I turned in my official transcripts from FAU on Friday the 18th and took the HESI. I turned in my application Monday.

As of Tuesday, my status was denied- transcripts not evaluated. Do any of you know how long it usually takes to get them evaluated?

Maybe a couple of weeks..call them and ask about your situation

Thanks for the heads up.

I had my titers done today and physical. :ninja: Next week I start my shots

Anyone out there also without health insurance? If so, where are you going (or where did you go) for the physical and titers? Cost estimates?

Here's the web address: http://www.doctors365.com

I don't know if these are the best prices out there but it's worth a look.

Hi there! I thought I'd help out a bit since I was in a similar situation. I too sent transcripts from FAU. I sent my transcripts in early September. A month later, the beginning of October, it still wasn't showing that Broward college received my transcripts so I physically called the registrar and asked if they received them. They did, they just didn't acknowledge it until I called them. I was then transferred to Health admissions, and they made sure that my transcripts would be evaluated. A couple of hours later I checked and everything was evaluated. So my advice to you would be to call them and make sure they received the transcripts, (also check on your myBC account in the 'transcripts received' section to be sure) and make sure you speak with Health admissions; everything should be updated that day or perhaps even the day after. Hope I helped!

Lisitax,

Thank you so much for your reply! To clarify- I physically handed my sealed transcripts to the registrar's office last Friday. After I saw my status (denied-pending transcript eval.) I called the health admissions office at the north campus and the lady I spoke to said there was a request for them to be evaluated. However, it's been 2 days and nothing has changed so I went to the advising office hoping to get some help and I won't be able to speak with an advisor until Monday ? the man I spoke to said nothing can progress until I meet with an advisor and get the transcripts evaluated. I'm getting different information from everyone I speak to at BC and I'm so stressed out. Everyone has registered and I'm still waiting to be accepted.
