U.S.A. Indiana

Published

This is the "Not In" thread, or for anyone that's planning on applying for Spring Semester by the Sept 1st deadline.

We need love too! :loveya:

My Boring Stats:

A's in prereq's except ANP 2...taking that class now.

Horribly embarrassing TEAS at 76, still have two more tries. (Which is why I'm taking math and phys sci this summer. lol)

Hope to get into the Bloomington or Terre Haute programs. (Yay! Greene county gets region pts at both. lol)

Currently frazzling myself out with 5 online classes

It's nice to meet you....whoever you are....

Lennon, Thank you so much for your tips and information. I feel so much better having these bits of information. It really keeps me going on the right track as far as making sure that I have everything that I need for classes.

Lennon, you mentioned your BP cuff, but that wasn't on our supply list--do we need to have one or do you have one from lab that you get to take to clinicals or something?

I found this handy little contraption on the Scrubs and Beyond website for holding your penlight, scissors, etc:

http://www.scrubsandbeyond.com/product/student_scrubs_medical_scrubs/medical-kits-and-tools/prestige-5-pocket-color-coordinated-nurses-kit.do

It has a belt loop to make it "wearable" although I dont' know that any of us will be wearing a belt with our scrubs??? Still, at least it's a dedicated place to put everything and it has the things that we need. I might put it on my "wish list" this Christmas --- What a strange list it will be!

Chris, I have the same stethoscope b/c two of my nurse friends swear by it, so hopefully it will prove to be a good choice for us as well!

We were told that we could get a BP cuff of our own if we wanted to be able to practice at home. We don't need to bring them to clinicals but I've had the occasion to use my cuff a few times, that way I didn't have to wait for someone else to use it. Check with your instructor first though :)

I got mine from Williams Brother's Pharmacy for about $25 since we have one of their stores in town. Definitely check them out, that's where I got my penlight, bandage scissors, and BP cuff.

I just checked campus connect and it looks like Indy has started to work on the schedules! :yeah:

I show nothing yet.

Scrubs & Beyond in Castleton. It wasn't as big as I thought it was.

I stopped in there today and got the Liteweight, the name thing for it, and the $14 kit of pen, scissors, light, and holder. I almost got a BP cuff, but I waited.

I don't show any registration yet. I wonder how they really do it. Alphabetical? By area of town? Being toward the end of the alphabet I hope I don't get the 'leftovers' LOL.

Carlos what color is your scope? I got "Caribbean Blue", not that it matters of course!

Specializes in Neurology.

I am not registered yet either, here's hoping they get us done on Monday!

Never thought about the scopes coming in different colors.... Did they have any purple?

Yep Kim they had one that was a light purple color. (Scrubs & Beyond in Castleton)

I stayed conservative and got a black one.

I started at Indianapolis this spring and if I remember right it took a couple of weeks for our schedules to come out. Be forewarned that you may not show a clinical site at first (it may just show your instructor and that you are going to Lawrence on that day), but you don't start clinicals till your sixth week. Sometimes when they do the schedules, they don't have all the clinical sites and times set up. Also, the schedules are subject to change.

my full schedule is up, just out of the blue like that. i got the b series, i have clinicals on friday at westview hospital. i will have sat, sun, and mon:ddays off to study. i guess it doesn't get no better than that. my financial aid account is already up to speed too, that could be better (lol).
