Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....

Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?

I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.

And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!

Is anyone in here applying to the South Bend campus? I'm going to turn in my application tomm. and am super nervous. I have a 212 total score, but I know the competition is steep...

Aha! Found it! March 19th 2009! You made a post about going to it that day! LOL

LOL. Thanks! It seems like they changed the application around from the one they had last year. Now I have to put when I attended the info sessions. I did my Lawrence one like back in 2008! I have no idea when that was lol.

Oh I bet with 212 you are golden!

This board has slowed to a hault... Time to apply is running short and the waiting has begun. I hope more people get on this board!!! We have a few months of waiting to do and I don't know about anyone else, but I'm already crazy with the 'what if's'!!! :)

Hello everyone, I've just applied for the Fall semester nursing at Madison and Columbus campus. I'm already stressed out over whether or not I'll get in. I actually had a dream about not making it in the program last night. It's very stressful.

I'm freaking out as well. Right now my nerves are on end thinking things like "what if my application accidently got tossed aside." I'm actually thinking about calling to confirm that my application was handed to the right person. Oh the nerves. I'm also thinking I should apply to the LPN program before the deadline hits. Oh what to do....

I've also went over the whole, "what if my app is incomplete or gets lost" thing in my head as well. Wouldn't hurt to apply for the lpn program as well.

I'm freaking out right along with you guys! I haven't turned my app in yet, but I'm retaking the TEAS on Monday AND I've got an aphy102 lab practical tomorrow. I'm a little stressed! I keep worrying about them taking my lowest score or not counting the new grade that I'll have in 101; therefore assuring that I don't make it into the program.

You know, it's only my life and all. No reason to stress. ;-)

BTW, I'm applying to both programs...you know, just in case. ;-)

On the transcript I submitted I actually highlighted the four pre-requisites, just to they didn't accidently look at my Purdue grades (which are on my transcript). I just hope I gave everything that I was supposed to. It didn't seem like I handed much in, so it makes me nervous that I forgot something. I think I will run into Ivy Tech on Monday and pick up a copy of the LPN application too. The cut off for the RN program last year in South Bend was a 189 (according to the rumor mill.) They are expecting a lot more applicants this year, since the economy is the way it is, and so the cut-off score is going to increase. Eh, I hope my 212 will cut it.

A 212 is pretty much assured to get in. Even at Indy which is one of the most competitive campuses due to volume of applicants, a 212 is pretty much a sure thing.

Good luck everyone!

Thanks, Chris!

L7, I agree with Chris, with that score, you're pretty much assured a place. Congrats!

A friend of mine retook the TEAS yesterday and her grade shot up 8 pts from the first time! I'm so proud of her! AND, with her 3 pts for region she has a 215 so she's pretty much assured a place, too. :yeah:I'm just hoping that my own grade will go up some. I made a promise to my friend that if I make a 90 or above on the TEAS that I will record myself doing my 'happy dance' (aka the running man lmao) and put it on my nursing blog. ROFL. :dancgrp:

I'm pretty sure that I aced the lab exam today, woohoo! There's only one that I'm not sure about and she might either give me partial credit or full credit. It was a slide and the answer was White Pulp and I could NOT for the life of me remember if it was the pancreas or the spleen. I kept thinking it was the spleen, but I talked myself out of it and put the pancreas. :smackingfHowever, everyone else that I spoke with just put White Pulp. Sooo....if she gives them full credit for that, shouldn't I get full credit, even if I put White Pulp of the pancreas? LOL. Oh well, if I get half credit, that's cool I guess. Here's hoping that I at least get a 95/100!

I had that thought pretty much every single day while I was waiting for my letter, it's perfectly normal! I handed my apps in by hand (even taking off early from work one day to drive my Indy app up to campus and hand it in by hand) and everything was fine.

I got into Bloomington (which is supposed to really hard because of lack of space and a smaller number of people accepted) with a 213, and Indy (which is also supposed to be hard) with a 210 (out of region).

Okay, I'm filling out my applications to turn in tomorrow and I'm so nervous! I'm afraid that I won't fill it out correctly or that I won't turn everything in correctly...ugh, it's a nerve wracking process! BTW, I made an 87 on my TEAS (woohoo!), so (assuming that I get an A in 101 and 102, which I WILL) that gives me a 207, which I'm worried about. I really wish that I got those extra 3 pts because a 210 would make me a lot less worried! What do you guys think about a 207?

Oh and I made a 97/100 on the 102 lab practical! :rckn:
