Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....

Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?

I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.

And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!

207 sounds like a good score to me! (Congrats on the lab exams too!) What campus are you applying to again?

As for the nerves, I feel the same way. It seemed like there wasn't much to the application (which makes it seem like I'm omitting something)

I know! I was expecting something thicker, etc and it's just a small packet. I keep thinking that I'm forgetting something. Ugh!

I'm applying at the Evansville campus. Which one are you at again? I certainly hope that 207 is good enough. Those darn 3 pts are killing me. You have a 212, right? I bet that definitely assures you a place in the program!

Congrats on your teas scores everyone, they are all very good. I know a lot of intelligent people who, unfortunately, couldn't pass this test, so you should be very proud. :yeah: I got an 80 percent and am just glad I passed.

Thanks, Infinisynth! Congrats on your TEAS scores, as well. I'm glad I passed, too. That science section KILLED me and apparently I still can't spell (which is weird because I'm anal about my spelling) and I have terrible grammar. ;-)

Which campus are you applying to?

South Bend campus for me!

Congrats and good luck to both of you! I'm not looking forward to the waiting game and I'm sure I'll be stalking the mail lady when May rolls around!

taranator, I noticed you're on the Ivy Tech message boards too! :p

I'm applying at Columbus and Madison. I kinda live in between the two in North Vernon but I take classes in Madison.

There are Ivy Tech message boards? Where can I find those at?

http://wwwapps.ivytech.edu/phpbb/index.php There's the link L7.

Yep, I'm over there, too. Good luck, Infin! A friend of mine is applying at Madison, also!

BTW, I'm having a bit of a mini freak out thinking about what happens if I DON'T make an A in 102. I'm there on the cusp (thanks to a dismal C on the last lecture exam due to studying for 101's midterm) and I'm really, really nervous! Basically, I need to make at least a 90% on the rest of my exams! I know I can do it...I'm just really, really worried because if I mess up on even one...that could mean a B and not getting into the ASN program!!!!!

Oh and I'm going to ask about those region points tomorrow when I turn in my app. E'ville is in my region, I'm just not actually IN Indiana; however, I do pay the same rate per credit hour, blah, blah, blah. So, I'm curious about whether I get the same points or not. It would definitely make me feel better about my score. :-)

Taranator, yeah I remember taking anp I and II both last semester, I'm glad I got that over with. I'm sure you'll do fine. Hope they give you the region points. Is the Evansville campus pretty competitive?

From what I've heard, yes it's pretty competitive. Of course, I've only talked with a few people but...pretty much everyone I've talked to is wanting to go into the Nursing Program. Surely, a 207 would be good enough to get into the RN program?

Are Columbus and Madison competitive? I don't know much about most of the campuses other than Indy is very, very competitive.

I'm not sure how many people are applying but it seems like Columbus gets a lot more people. I went to the info session there a few months ago and it was packed with people and many of them were from Indy. So I would assume that Columbus is more competitive than Madison.
