  1. They just went over this in school. They told us that if we are unsure about what is written (aka just lazy scribbles) then we should call the doctor and confirm the order. I don't know if this will apply in the real world but it's what we were taught.
  2. You should just deal with it and do your job to the best of your ability. Something tells me you wouldn't have this problem if this were a female nurse.
  3. I found a nice, comfortable pair of white shoes at a Reebok outlet store for around $50. Madison got sent the wrong books so I'm still waiting for the correct one's to arrive. I'm a 210 lb. dude so I went ahead and ordered XXL shirts and XL pants to be on the safe side. I went ahead and shelled out the bucks for a Litmann Master cardio stethoscope, I look at it as an investment really. Got CPR class Monday.
  4. Paint the walls a nice neutral color like light tan or eggshell white, clean the floors, get a local elementary school to color some Thanksgiving pictures (hand turkeys are always a good option), add some fragrant flowers to possibly help with the smell and spruce the place up, voila! I feel like an interior decorator now.
  5. Yeah, I've been reading a lot on this message board about how stethoscopes walk off. I'm really gonna try to keep it on my person at all times, I'm also gonna etch my initials in it with a scribe.
  6. Madison student here, I signed up for classes yesterday. Orientation was Wednesday and we had some upperclassmen come in and give us some helpful study advice. I got my drug test done but still need to get the physical and vaccines etc. A friend of mine that's in the program recommended getting a good stethoscope so I purchased a Littmann master cardiologist from Amazon. It sucked spending all that $$$ but it will be a good investment. I am a little nervous about pharmacology class. During orientation they kept stressing how difficult that class is.
  7. Ask yourself, "Why did she ask me and not someone else?" They singled you out as a pushover is more than likely the honest answer. You can't please everyone all of the time. Tell them no and forget about it. It would be highly immature if that person held a grudge against you.
  8. If you want to have a good amount of physical energy and a positive emotional outlook, then exercise is important no matter what you do for a living.
  9. Congrats on your job offers, options are ALWAYS a good thing. I would defiantly suggest checking out both places before making a concrete decision. Good luck
  10. Doesn't matter what type of genitalia you possess, if this is your thing, then it's your thing. I'm sure that it will be challenging from time to time, but oh well if it's what you enjoy, then go for it.
  11. I'm getting ready to start nursing school and I lift weights at home 3-4 days a week. It really helps with the daily stresses of life. My metabolism isn't what it used to be so I've also recently decided to stop drinking soda completely and being more vigilant with what I eat as well. To 68drop, just wanna say congrats on losing all that weight. That's awesome.
  12. If I worked on your floor and you brought in bagels on your first day then I would probably joke around with you about being a suck up or something, but I would also look at it as a kind gesture and my first impression of you would be that you're thoughtful.
  13. Also you can often get the books you need lightly used from Amazon for dirt cheap, I always look there first.
  14. Go for it I say. I think that most people decide if they really want to work hard to pursue nursing while they are taking the pre-requisite classes. If you can make good grades and are still motivated when it comes time to apply to the actual program then you'll be golden.
  15. Ill let you know when I get mine as well, I absolutely know what you mean, this runs through my head constantly. I even have dreams about it. UGH! So stressful.
