  1. I also work for Fresenius. I have accepted my first travel job and am set to head out July 6th. I am coming from chronic with Fresenius to the travel side. The recruiters I had tried previously NEVER returned my calls, but the one I am using now is very attentive and easy to get in touch with. She responds within 24 hours, usually the same day! I am excited and scared for the new challenge.
  2. If you move to Chicago, just across the Illinois-Indiana border, you can go to Ivy Tech in Gary, IN about 35-45 mins from Chicago depepnding on which part you move to. They are a community college offering a LPN-RN transition program that is 3 semeesters long. You may want to look into it, I am in the LPN program there now in Indianapolis.
  3. The only main thing I'd consider right now is that since you are interested in moving up higher in your education, MedTech is not a school that most universities (ISU, IUPUI, Ball State, etc) accept credits from. They do have a transfer agreement with Indiana Westlyan which is also quite expensive, but with that agreement you still have to redo alot of your general ed classes which would in turn take more time and cost more $$. As far as being done faster Med Tech would probably be a great idea but it might cost you some time in the long run...Just some info! Good Luck!
  4. Just like most other jobs in any field right now, experience is necessary...with that being said, try doing some volunteer opportunites at some clinics in your area as well as try to obtain some extra certifications. Anything that can beef uop your resume and make it more appealing than the next graduate nurse. Keep your head up, there is a job out there for you and although it may not be in the hospital, area you want right now, ANY experience is good experience!
  5. half.com is pretty good too if you know the ISBN numbers! Compare to get the cheapest prices!! Good Luck!!
  6. Clarian has a good student nurse program. They pay you less until you are licensed, but then they raise the pay...
  7. I am also only a student, but since you have no license, I have heard that there are hospitals you can apply to in Indiana as a Student nurse until you pass your NCLEX. DO you know what part of Indiana you will be moving to??
  8. Hi! I am actually working on my ASN right now and I am actually interested in the ASN to MSN option myself. When I went to IUPUI and spoke to an advisor in the nursing department, besides the 2 yrs of experience, he said you would either need a bachelor's degree in something (doesn't have to be nursing) or enough credits to get a bachelor's degree. So I am actually going to finish my Spanish degree at IUPUI, work as an RN for two years and then apply for the MSN program. Hope this helps a little! Good Luck with whatever you choose.
  9. I think u'll be fine! But the waiting is KILLING me! 3 more weeks! I heard about the Columbus thing, thats weird, hopefully that doesnt stop me from getting in...i'll let you know as soon as I get my letter tho...I'm trying not to think about it, but its ruining my mind! lol...GOOD LUCK!
  10. Ok, I am completely new to this site and I am literally freaking out! I am applying for the Lawrence and the Anderson campuses for the Spring 2011 RN and LPN programs. I have 3-A's and a B in 102 and an 87 on my TEAS! I am sooo scared because I don't think I did good enough to get in to any programs but I am praying about it! The wait seems so long before I'll actually know! If there is anyone else out there applying, what are your grades/concerns and are you feeling confident (because I totally am NOT!) Nice to meet you guys and GOOD LUCK!
