Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....

Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?

I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.

And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!

Heard today over 300 applicants for Richmond. But I also heard that I shouldn't worry about it, looks good for me with a 210. I don't think I will stop worrying until I have the letter in my hand.

I asked about the 3pts for region when I turned my app in yesterday and the woman said, "Well, what did your application say?" as if I were a five year old. Ugh. I explained that I was within region, yet my county was not named blah, blah, blah, yet she still spoke to me like a child. When I left I was rather irritated, but I guess that's better than the nervousness I WAS feeling. ;-)

However, she wished me Good Luck and all that, so maybe she just has a ton of people asking the same question and gets tired of it. Who knows, I could have been so nervous that I took what she said in a crappy way. Oh well...only two to two and half months of waiting to go!

re-took the TEAS today and got a 90. so yay my app is in! ugh i can't wait until the end of may! now to get through the rest of anatomy...

Does anyone on here know if a 199 (202 for the Indy campus) would cut it to make it in the RN program at Anderson, Columbus, or Lafayette?

Today's the day! Unfortunately I am stuck with an 85% on my TEAS which wasn't enough to push me over 200. So long as I maintain this A in 101 I will end up with 198 total which I doubt is good enough. Three As and only one B! I am hoping I don't have any issues getting into LPN though :)

The wait is on!

I am headed up to Lawrence right now to get my transcripts and turn in my apps!

Okay, everything is turned in! RN and LPN apps :)

C'mon May 30th.

Good luck everyone!!! I'm ready for May to get here. Mostly so I know whether I got an A in aphy102 which will tell me whether I'm still in the running for the RN program. LOL.

Can I have a magical remote that can fast forward?

My apps are all turned in. Hoping that the 199 (202 for Indy) will be good enough to get in. I was told by the Health Sciences secretary at one of the campuses that their normal cutoff for LPN is in the 170's. Still hoping for RN, but LPN would be a great start.

Good luck! I will keep my fingers crossed for you :) I wanna say that I heard upper 190s is pretty much a shoo in for LPN, and like you its a start and at least the start of a new career!

On another note, sorry I've been so MIA lately ladies :( I've been so freaking busy lately especially with these extra 3 classes I had to pick up. I am ready for this semester to be over with!

kgle - I'm with you; I'm ready for this semester to be over!!! I think the reason I enjoy the summer sessions is because there is a lot to do in one week so I'm always busy and it's over quick enough for me not to get bored. Maybe I need to stick with 8 week sessions lol.

On a good note; I made a 119/120 on the aphy102 lecture exam!!!!! :rckn: I'm so darn excited! I had it worked out and I needed to make at least a 90% on the rest of my exams (there were 4, but now we're down to 3) to make/keep an A in the class. So....this grade gives me a bit more breathing room, woohoo! I was pretty stoked, let me tell ya.

How's everyone else doing? gilla - I also think that a score in the high 190's is definitely a shoo-in for the LPN and, depending on how many apply, etc, it might even get you into the RN program.

Congrats on your scores, everyone, and good luck! Seriously....can May get here any quicker?

Congrats on the great 102 score, Tara!

Hard to believe the app. date has come and gone for you guys already!

Tara, you'll like the nursing program then, if you like shorter classes because it packs more in and you don't get bored. . . oh boy, you surely won't get bored in the nursing program! Most of the classes are shorter than full semester (for the ASN program there are only 2 courses that are full semester, the rest range from 5 wks to 11 wks with most of them being 8 wks).

I recently found out I got put into OB/Peds for summer semester and I am VERY excited about that!

Peds/Ob this summer? That's freaking awesome! Congratulations! Is that what you want to go into, Chris? I would like to work in the NICU myself. I'm so excited for you!

Thanks for the congrats, I really studied my butt off! I can't wait to start nursing classes (fingers, toes and eyes crossed, for real). ;-)
