I recognized someone from the picture they're using as their avatar. Moreover, it's someone I'm responsible for evaluating. And what they're posting is not consistent with a good attitude or safe practice. I can easily see why they're having so many issues with their colleagues. And the amazing thing is that clearly they think they're doing just great and everyone ELSE is the problem!
Now what? I'd already written up the evaluation, but the pages I've printed off allnurses.com complete with the person's picture clearly support my conclusions. Do I include them? Or shred them and pretend I've never looked at allnurses.com?
Will it help if I tell you that my boss reads allnurses religiously? She's probably also seen the picture and the posts.
what if your coworker stole your picture and has been posting crazy stuff . it could happen. stranger things happen everyday. z evaluate her at work not personal time
Or maybe she actually did post her own picture and made those posts herself.
Occam's razor: All things being equal, the simplest explanation tends to be the one that's correct.
I can't believe no one has said this yet, but wouldn't it be ironic if the person OP is taking about has been following this thread?
Well if she is than she would also know who her supervisor/evaluator is and be able to scour her posts as well! This is a place where we should be able to vent and speak our mind as long as we don't violate hippa or specifically mention where/who we work with. Pretty foolish to have your own picture shown if you want anonymity though. Hopefully those who have their own name or picture will take the time now to take it off and change their name if necessary.
This situation (someone knowing your posts and using it against you) is why I don't like friending coworkers on facebook. People can be petty and use things against you, but at least on facebook you chose to friend those people and post under your own name and photo, most here are not advertising their real names and friending coworkers! I don't think it is right to use her posts against her she is not at work. Would you like if someone outed you and brought any comments to your boss or are all your posts so perfect that it wouldn't matter.
If we can't speak our mind here and have to pretty everything up than what is the point of all nurses site? I think it is sad that someone would try to get another coworker in trouble for speaking their mind, but I guess "scripting" is supposed to rule us 24/7 in this time of computer big brother. God forbid we would be able to speak our mind and share our troubles with others struggling with the same issues! Just think if management cared about morale they would listen to the people on here and take it to heart and make changes to staffing, etc to improve working conditions and morale, instead it's becoming a witch hunt! Very Sad!
I hope the "nurse in question" copies all of this and holds on to hard and electronic copies ...just think, having that 'ol facility paying all your bills for a while, ahhhh SWEET.Maybe a nice vacation and a new car. That is what I'd do with the settlement. Too easy, way too easy!
AND admit to the unprofessional conduct ect...benefit versus risk.....
Shred them. This is our place to go and vent, get things off our chest. I complain about things but i dont reflect that at work. It would be unfair if she was a good nurse to have her in trouble because of things he/she said online, things we ALL say. She just happened to get caught it being her. Let it go...evaluate her as a nurse, not what she says on here.

No one is saying it will but whenever you are putting out on the internet...you MUST be cognizant that you are not invisible and it is a really small world. As I posted earlier in the thread the supreme court has held up one case and it backs the worker having a right to vent when off duty/not at work.
B ut why take the chance?
