I just am realizing why I'm having the best Christmas I've had in about 10 years. I don't have to work!!!!!

For those who do/did, let me amend that a little. I do have to work late, late tonight (Tuesday) and I did have to work 12/23 and get through yesterday without more than about a 2 hour nap. However, I got to be with my extended family last night for dinner and we even got to a really wonderful Christmas Eve service, ran into an old coworker and we reminisced, and just had a real nice Eve. I have a mountain of work ahead of me today to help prepare for company in a few hours, then I must work the night shift. But it feels like I was off duty because I got to see my loved ones and go to church. And I haven't been able to do that for more years than I can even remember.

I hope all of you have as happy a holiday as I have/am. For those who cannot be off when they want to, I'm sorry, and I hope you will still get to spend some really happy and blessed time with those you love, doing things that refresh you. Thanks to all for the loving care and expert skills you utilize to take care of your patients.

yule tide greetings everyone!

we had a wonderful christmas morning! my young son was in so much angst thinking he didn't get hardly anything because he asked for an expensive present. we actually got it on a price match and then hid it under all the other presents under the tree. (there are 5 in the family) then in the end there was this present left and when he opened it he jumped and danced around the room! :chuckle it was great!
