Hello, I've been introduced to quizlet and I would like to know if it's reliable 're sets available? Or do you only use it to create your own sets??
Any information will be helpful?

They aren't. Quizlet has information posted by other students mainly for their own or their friends personal use but some choose to make them public. You really have no idea where the information that they are using is coming from. Plus many people have used it to cheat on their exams. This happened at my school. We use to have all our exams given on the computer, now we are back to the bubble cards and scantrons. It is a great tool for creating your own flash cards but I would tread lightly when viewing others public materials.

I totally agree! For me I think it's better to create my own notes/flash cards because I learn more when I write. Someone in my class actually tried to challenge a test question with quizlet. My professor just shook his head, it was kind of funny.

I heard about it, took one look, and never went back. It's kind of like citing Wikipedia for a research paper. There's little accountability for what's posted, and you cannot rely on it for accuracy.

When I use it, I make my own sets and print them from there or study off my phone with the app. I don't use other peoples sets.

I used it to make my own flash cards and rarely looked at anyone else's. You can create tests for yourself and use the app on your phone so you always have your flash cards with you. I like it a lot.

I actually found it reliable for googling some answers.

I used it for a research class in grad school. I found basic vocabulary, and it matched my textbook's definitions.
Although, now that I think about it, it may have been studystack I used.......

I used quizlet to study for a CLEP and everything that I studied WAS not on the CLEP. However, I do use quizlet to make my own sets and I find making my own helpful.

I only find it helpful when I use my OWN information, or sets created by my classmates that are studying exactly the same material that I am. It's a great tool though, esp with the flashcards, games, & "practice tests" that you can create.

Good day, GodIs082010:
I recommend creating your own quizlet.com cards for the following reasons:
1. By typing in the terms and definitions, you are reinforcing both prior to even using the cards.
2. Your terms and definitions will hopefully better match the source material from which you use to input them; i.e. the textbook(s) used by your school.
While I've used cards created by other parties, since the Internet allows anyone to be a publisher... well, the information is not always accurate. So then you spend time verifying if every single card is accurate so you might as well take the time to create your own.
Thank you.
P.S. I'm a quizlet.com fan, and a paid subscriber (so that I could use custom images).
Thank you all for your suggestions and input ?
