One year program, no waiting list, includes uniforms and you get meds/IV cert included. Is this tuition high? I can't say the name of the school, sorry. Just wondered if it was too high. Thanks in advance!

Most of the private vo-tech schools in my area are charging in the mid $20,000's now. The question is, are new LPNs in your area finding jobs? What are the starting wages? If the school has a decent reputation and you can find employment when you graduate to easily pay off the loan, than I don't think it is overpriced. Private schools will ALWAYS be more expensive than public colleges. You just have to figure out if the price is worth that much more for the convenience.

Did you do some research on your local community college?
18K sounds about right for a private school. Do some research on the school, ask a lot of questions, and check out their passing rate. Ask them if you can transfer your class to a community college or university for your RN.
Schools in the Chicagoland area charge over 20K and they keep increasing the tuition every year.

Wow! I hope they have lots of jobs in your area and pay really well! I only paid $6,000 for mine and that wasn't that long ago.
My community college is charging $13,000 for their LPN program.

I think that is way overpriced also. My LPN Program was about $8000. It was a little more, but not much more, if we purchased the books that the instructor's said was good reference books to have. WOW!!

My LPN education was through an adult and community program which is under the umbrella of my county's public school district. Cost about $5,000.
Thanks, everybody! I truly appreciate the info. This website is a very valuable resource!!
