Any LPN/LVN's that was MA's First.
Was a MA before becoming a LPN,I totally agree with the comment from the COMMUTER. I work for a company who doesn't not recognize MA.They only recognize CNA,LPN,RN.

tired of the board of nursing in MD
Just asking if anyone has had to deal with the Maryland board of nursing? Became a LPN last year and when It came time to renew my license this year, MBON decided to make us retake CHRC-background check all over again. Had to pay $70.00 dollars and now waiting for them to update it and it takes forever and in the mean time my job tells me it needs to be updated by the june 28th,2010. I'm a LPN stuck in Clinical Assistant II role and it requires me to renew both license CNA,LPN,plus repeating Background check it came to $165.00 and you can never get anyone on the phone from MBON.

Im proud to be an LPN !
Proud to be a LPN,I agree it's amazing to hear folks say why did you want to do that? I explain to them, that's what I wanted to do and proud of it. I have a couple of people who try to put me down for becoming a LPN,they didn't finish LPN school(to busy partying)! I'm glad I did it,working on my RN and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm the only LPN on my floor who finished and didn't walk around just talking about school,I studued and passed my boards on the 1st try.

How hard is LPN school?
nursing school is hard.I started out with 64 students 32 day class,32 evening.By the time we graduated we had total of 35 students. Folks dropped for various reasons, most of them because of lack of time to study, pregnancy, working 2 jobs. it's what you make of it. I worked part-time this school was part time 4-10pm. passed my LPN board 1st try. just have the time to study,be focused and you can do anything you put your mind to.Looking back I don't know how I did it with hardly any sleep. This course was mon-fri 4-10pm. 1600 hrs total.

LPN school: wasted a year of my life
having the same problem,no one wants to hire a new nurse grad.Working as a Clinical Assistant II until something comes up,applied everywhere.I work for a big HMO they don't hire either unless you have a year experience. I just get told hang in there:confused:
