The good thing about living in a rural area is fewer people congregate together. That usually equals less flu.
Also good for the zombie apocalypse:)

MA is bad right now! The Mayor of Boston declared a State of Emergency!
Just tried to get my boss a flu shot and cannot find any flu vaccine!
I have to vent. My sister works at WalMart. Been to the MD, has the flu, coughing and hacking over everthing. This bug has flattened her. She called into work, 3rd day, the boss says "You know you've called in three days". "You know it's not like it's cancer or anything". Never said she COULDN'T call in, but strongly hinted at repurcussions if she did.
I guess he didn't get the memo about staying at home when you're sick.
If you go to WalMart and see a coughing, feverish looking cashier, you might want to change lines. And don't blame them for not staying home.

Southeastern as well - ER's have been diverting for days which is crazy since we have a hospital like every 5 miles.
I know the CDC has their stats, but I would really like to know how many of these patients got the flu shot and still got the flu. I can't get the shot because of negative reactions to previous ones so I am always a little nervous this time of year.
